So I somehow stumbled across a Capcom Hori Soul Controller this weekend and started thinking, what other odd (in shape or function) controllers are out there. i know about the RE4 chainsaw and the guitar, but what else is there? I like to collect things like that so all the help I can get would be great.

There's the Dragon Quest slime controller for the PS2, and the fishing controller for the Dreamcast.

The Tekken 5 arcade stick.

And what about the bike thing for the SNES....what was that called?

a. The two gun controller for FFX-2.
b. The odd....two gun connected thing for FPSs on PS2 / Xbox
c. The RC car like controllers.
d. (Insert every wii add on sans the Zapper here)
e. Teh Activator
f. Those oddball wanna-be power glove like things
g. That ball on a triangle controller thing from Decent / Forsaken days...
h. The Power Glove
i. The U Force
j. xje...JXE...ZXE...gah...that Japanese PSX game where you actually built model robots and plugged them into the system, and the system knew what model you had built.
k. The pachinko controller for Neo Geo
l. That god awful kungfugripfighting dance pad BS thing that was for PS2
m. Real Golf(?) - The PS2 / XBox golf sim thing where you strapped your hands to a pair of strings and swung a golf club
n. Sambo De Amigo - Maracas!
o. Donkey Konga - Bongos!
p. Anniversary Space Invaders PS2 import - The controller was a replica mini-coctail SI table. \m/
q. The TouchFree Controllers for NES / Genesis / SNES - The dpad was gone and a 'touch sensor' in it's place...sucked ass, was on the testing team for it.
r. The Colecovision steering wheel - I only include this rather standard one because you actually plugged the controller in and used the analog knob as your stick shift. Thought that was rather ingenius.
s. The JogCon - A PSX racing wheel from namco that caused the 'fighting back' simulation you get in the wheel fo a car as you turn and such
t. The NegCon - The twisty-turny controller for PSX...where your twist = turning a car wheel.
u. The Max NES Controller - the Disc Pad was *light years* ahead of itself.
v. The Mortal Kombat 3 controllers - SNES / GEN - Controller allowed pre-programmed cards to be inserted so you could do one button moves with specific characters.

And....I ran out of ideas.

Off the top of my head I can think of, the one handed Playstation controller; Dragon Warrior 8 had a Slime controller; I forget the name of the controller but it came with Ridge Racer 7 or something for the original playstation.

Plus the Bass Landing controller for the playstation is strange I guess because it's an F'n fishing rod.

Here's on I found a month or so ago for the Xbox, although I do know it was also made for the PS2. I believe Dangerboy is referring to this at number 2 on his list above.:

And don't forget the Steel Battalion Xbox controller...

That'd be Densha de Go!, and Taito have made train controllers for every system it's appeared on except the NGPC. The PSone even has the choice of a full size controller or a pad. And I've just found pics of a Wii controller too.

There's also that bloody great big Katana sword for the PStwo.

Dreamcast Twin Sticks too, for some Virtual-ON action.

Nah, you're ok. To be fair, immediately after typing that I went on a Google mission and found I was wrong. I didn't actually realize how many DdG games there are. Turn out there's loads of hand held ones and loads just for the PS2.

I was looking for a website with pictures of all the controllers, but the best I could find in English was the Densha-de-go forum (http://densha-de-go.com/). Check out the collections thread for some pictures of the different controllers.

The PSone, N64, Saturn and Dreamcast ones are all the same just different colors. But then there's a very funky looking one and even ones with LED displays for the PS2 and Wii.

Yup, it was made by ASCII. ASCII also made one for the SEGA Saturn as well, but it wasn't released outside of Japan. I have the psx one and two of the Saturn ones.
