Do these games have bilingual/multilingual packaging in the U.S.?

Does Sonic Rush Adventure (DS) have bilingual packaging (box and manual are in BOTH English and French) in the U.S. I was very surprised to see that it has has bilingual packaging here in Canada. I think it is the first SEGA game in a very long time to have more than one language on its box and manual since the early Genesis days.

How about Xbox 360 games? Do any of them have bilingual/multilingual packaging in the U.S.?

Most of the games in Canada have bilingual packaging. It usually have extra French manual tack to the sealed game and then it was resealed. It cost company a lot more to produce extra language manual. I believe Sega opt to go with both language so they don't have to pay extra for French manual packaging in Canada. This is good. Next thing company should do is produce manual & packaging in three language - English, French & Spanish.

Yes, unfortunately Nintendo has long been proactive about bilingual/multilingual packaging for its games. :( Up until now, I would have to buy all my first party Nintendo games and Nintendo published games from the U.S. in order to avoid Nintendo's unremovable bilingual/multilingual packaging.

Now ALL first party Nintendo Wii games in North America having unremovable trilingual packaging. :mad:

I guess the silver lining to that cloud is that I no longer have to import first party Nintendo Wii games and Nintendo published games Wii from the U.S.

I used to specifically order Nintendo and Capcom GameCube games from the US, not Canada, to avoid the bilingual packaging (although I've found two games, Donkey Konga and Digimon World 4, that were released bilingual even in the US). Obviously I don't have to worry about that now, and just get Wii stuff from Canada too if the price is better.

You guys think you have it bad? Games with Spanish text usually have SPAIN Spanish, which is completely fucking archaic. Nobody in Latin America speaks that way anymore.

I'd like language options in games, but not in the packaging or manuals. Most games already include tutorials, I rarely if ever read the manual anymore.

I can't say outside of the GameCube, but as I own every US release bar four then those are the only two I've ever found bilingual only.

Donkey Konga was released bilingual in Spanish and English. I know Super Paper Mario was as well.

I was upset about this when I bought Metroid Prime 3. The box and manual were in 3 languages, which means that the length of the manual was in effect a third the normal size. The North American countries are pretty big. Multi-lingual packaging makes sense in Europe - much less so in North America.

English is used in the US and Canada.
French has to be added because if it isn't, Quebec bitches about it.
Spanish has to be added because the USA has tons and tons of Latin immigrants; not to mention US/Canada games are exported to Latin America, too.

It makes sense from a business standpoint.

But it's still annoying as hell.

Not quite 100% related, but I do have a thought I wanted to share.

I'd hate it if you guys were to look at my boardgame collection. Most of the games I've bought recently have no fewer than 6 languages represented in their rulebooks.

Sometimes they even put in 6 complete manuals!

Instead of complain about it, why now spend the time learning some words in a new language? :D I'm beginning to learn quite a few German words thanks to my gaming hobby :)
