I remember seeing an old ad in a magazine for a game for the Genesis (I think) that advertised itself as the "first real 3d" game, or something along those lines..

It was 3D in the sense, that you wore 3D glasses when you played it. Just the normal red/blue glasses, I believe. But the actual game was a 2d platformer, I think.

Anyway, I don't remember the title.. and I can't find it by googling. Anyone know?

The only Genesis game that I remember coming with glasses was Jim Power. Try looking into that.

Yeah, it must've been the SNES Jim Power game I was thinking of. Not Genesis.

The Master System had 3-D glasses that were quite awesome for some games. They gave a feel you can't get with polygons.

Jim Power was released on the Genesis, it was released on the SNES.

Top Gear wasnt released on the Genesis, It's sequal (Top Gear 2) was released on the Genesis, but I dont think it came with 3d glasses. Virtua Racing didnt come with 3d glasses either, at least I dont think so (I'd be willing to bet money on it) but it was the only Genesis game to use the SVP chip, and I dont think it will work on the Sega 32X.

Yes, that's part of what I said. It was released on Genesis, SNES, PC-Engine CD, Amiga, PC, etc...

Jim Power didn't get released for Megadrive/Genesis, the game was made (and possibly not entirely finished) but never actually published.

Ah, I didn't realize the copy floating around the net was from a beta/unreleased version.
