One of the simple pleasures of this career is the ability to "amaze the natives". Usually, that just means fucking around with dumb kids. Let me preface this short yarn by saying that you can't imagine...

My favorite razzle-dazzle was when I had the "PlayStation 3! IN STOCK! NOW!" sign on the door, april 1st, 2 years ago.

I used duct tape and put a defective ps1 on top of a ps2, wrote with a sharpie "PS3" on the top, and put it on the counter with a $999.99 price tag.

Many people came in excited, but once I showed them the system, they got angry. Oh well.

Kids are stupid :)

Yeah one day I was working at DP and me and my co-worker came up with an idea. Now mind you this was about 3 months before ps3 came out. We had the first apple computer, yellow plastic and all. We then put a sticky note on the top of the monitor that said ps3 and a hand drawn sony logo. We then put a price tag of 999.99 on it. It was unbelievable when we saw adults wanting info on it!

Remember the PS9 Commercial, when I work at EB we had one for Pre-Order. It was actually some red sphere thing and we put PS9 on it.

You can get a George Foreman Lean Mean Grilling Machine, put a printed PS3 logo or something on it, and see what happens next.

It's not perfect, and mirrors the Halo 3 box more than I would like, but I think it came out pretty well. I haven't been able to print it out and see how it looks in a case, as I don't have any paper large enough, so hopefully none of it is too grainy to be a glaring fake. Everyone please feel free to suggest changes.

Wasn't there some live action Halo footage out on the net? Like some "professional" quality? Some snaps from that with maybe some filters and to make it not look like real photos. That should get some people to cock heads in wonder.

Or maybe....Halo Wars.

Now you just need to create a Wii version of Halo 3 or 4 and slap a "New Release" sticker on it. At least when you play the trick on a 360 owner they can go home and play halo 3, but the poor wii owner would be crushed. Or a pre-order for GTA IV on the Wii, that would do the trick also.

Unfortunately my printer at the store is a piece of junk and it's putting a big white stripe through the middle of the case. I'll have to print this at home or wait until my replacement printer to arrive at the store.

nice job vectorman, I printed one off and I just have it sitting on my back counter by the cash register.

I even took a halo 1 book and added a new halo 4 cover to it.

I told my brother we should start taking pre-orders for it, but he wont let me

That is too funny. Wow I wonder how many little kids will come in and see Halo 4 and run all the way home salivating and ask their parents for money. It would be even better if they bragged about it at school. It's just hilarious to imagine all of the kids that would line up at the store to try and buy it. lol

Nick, that is so awesome. I have mine sitting on the back counter and I get so many people asking about it.

I tell them I'm beta testing it and everyone want to know what its like. Then I tell them you play as Cortana and the Flood.

I've even had people take pictures on their cell phones to show their friends.
