Man, this really sucks. I wanted to pre-order a PS3 DualShock 3 from Japan as soon as they are released, which is November 11th. I signed up at Play-Asia for email alerts if preorders opened up for the DualShock 3, but never was sent an email. Then I happen to check their site today, and it says that preorders for both the black and white ones are all filled up already, and to check back on November 11th for re-stock!
Man, this sucks. Anybody know of any other importers that should get DualShock 3's that are reputable?

Kinda sucks you have to import them, but once you get it will the american consoles even work with it? I mean i know the controller isn't region locked but did sony update the firmware yet to support it? Just wondering.

A few companies confirmed that the DS3 will work out the box with games that are compatible with it...
Rachet & Clank Future: Tools of Destruction and Uncharted: Drake's Fortune among them...

Only thing I'm wondering now, is will a DualShock 2, with a Pelican PS2 to PS3 adapter rumble when you play Ratchet and Clank and Uncharted? Cause I recently got one of these little adapters for $14.99, and they work well. Obviously, no Sixaxis support on a regular DualShock, but I could save quite a bit of money and wait for the US version of the Dual Shock 3. It would suck beyond belief to pay huge bucks for the import Dual Shock 3, and then it doesn't even rumble, lol.

You could just shake the shit out of a sixaxis and pretend there was a good game on the screen. thats probably the best choice.

The Pelican + Dual Shock 2 DOES NOT work for Rachet & Clank Future or Uncharted...
An imported DS3 will work with both games...

Well, first of all, the Pelican does not support rumble controllers...
And secondly, when I played Rachet & Clank at Insomniac studios recently the rumble was already implemented...
As for Uncharted, the recent 1UP Show episode confirmed that the DS3 works with the game....

It cost about $40 - $50 (somewhat 5000 yen) in Japan. Amazon.co.jp is selling it for about $38 (4450 yen) right now. YesAsia.com's price at $69.99 got shipping included, but still it seems quite expencive compared to what the other retailers in Japan will be selling it for.
