I'm unsure which platform this is from. Might even be from an arcade game. Anyone have any ideas?

Completely crazy guess, but could it be The Horde (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Horde_%28video_game%29)? It was released around April of '94.

Asides from the obvious looking 3/4 overhead view and the fantasy type setting, arcade probably. Otherwise, no idea ;)
Where did you get the images?

Off my camera ;)
It came in a stack of videogame artwork like this one below.

My observations: the game has four domains based on earth, air, water and fire elements and obviously some generic Greek/Norse/Germanic mythology theme and more specifically each of the four domains seems to have that little stonehenge wannabe thingie, which could maybe be a transporter that took you from one region to the next.
This does not sound like any game I played, so I can't really help. Interesting stuff, though. Should this be a console game or could it be PC?

It could be PC sure but most of others are console or arcade.

Isn't this from that SNES game Gemfire?
Are those original artworks? Might be worth some money on ebay.

Hello
First, Imay try and help, but if you could tell us where you got the artwork, or any other information about the artwork, it could probably be known. This could aid in the search for your answer. Any and/or all information you have would be very helpful.

Well I tried to ask the person I got it from for more info but he seems to not remember. Some of the details have been a bit off in the past and I really doubt this was for an arcade game but this is what he said.
"I threw in a couple of "bonus" pieces, and that's one of them.
Unfortunately, I can't remember what it was for! Probably an ad for a
coin-op game"
