How much does Earthbound for Super Nintendo? The rarity guide lists it for $25, but that seems really low for a rare RPG for the Super Nintendo. How much would the guide go for as well?

DP doesn't go according to ebay prices. $25 is a the bottom base value. So far I would give it about $30-45 for loose depending on the condition. The guide I would price it around $15-25. I know on ebay the guide would cost upward of $65 currently, but I believe guide book should not cost more than a game.

I got really lucky on this one. In 2004, I found a cart only copy for $4. Oddly enough, the store I got it from also had Mario RPG for $20 and FF Mystic Quest for $15 (both cart only as well), so the cheap price was quite the nice surprise. And earlier this year, I found the guide at a Goodwill for 49 cents. :)

Anyways, I'd say a loose cart normally goes for anywhere between $25-50. It's not actually a rare game, but like the other well-known RPGs on the SNES, it's in high demand and those who sell the game usually do it on eBay or elsewhere online. Hope this helps!

The most I've ever sold a loose copy of EarthBound for was $54 on eBay. It had some label damage (a tear down the front and a little on the spine). What was funny is then the dude flaked out and didn't contact me so I ended up calling his contact number. His mom answered, apparently he was leaving the country to study abroad for awhile. So basically I had to have mommy pay for his game, which came quickly. Other loose copies have sold around that as well, never lower than $45 but I always change the save battery and note that in the auction. I sold my complete copy here at Digital Press for $180 a couple years ago to SixSwitch (since banned).

I'd stick the realistic average ball park prices for a loose cartridge around $30 and a boxed complete copy at $120. Yeah, they skyrocket every now and then, but for the most part you can usually find them at that or lower if you're patient and wait it out. It's NOT rare in the least, just in high demand and the recent release of Mother 3 is only increasing its demand.

A boxed copy is particularly hard to find since it came in a HUGE box to acomadate the strategy guide.

heck I'm a collector and I lost the box for years, only to find it ,my bommberman box witht the multitap and that collector set for max carnage all shoved in a box at my parents house ;-)

Admittedly, my idea re: how to price things differs from a lot of the members here, but I think it's time to bite the bullet and say that this game is officially worth about $45 loose. That's been the average on eBay for at least three years or so, and whenever I see one at a game shop locally it is almost always priced right around there and is sold within a few days. Granted, the game is far from rare, and if you're patient you can get one considerably cheaper, but doesn't the latter part of that statement go for just about everything?

40 to 50 is about right. I just sold a cart only to someone here on DP for 45 shipped.

I looked through some of the completed listings on e-bay. It seems at the moment its about $40-50 cart only. With guide it ranges from $60-75. Complete goes as low as $75 and one sold for almost $150. Cart only I'd ask for 50 if selling. It would eventually sell.

I'm surprised people say this is far from rare. Personally I have never seen one out there in the wild. Not in flea markets/garage sales etc, or even at used game stores.

I definitely agree with some of the earlier posters that a cart could probably sell at $45 or higher loose. The game has a lot of buzz around it and is in high demand.

nintendo produced alot of them and it didn't sell very well at all, so somewhere theres a masive amount of them just kicking around in storage.

low sales numbers makes it a hard game to find despite how many were prodcued.

dragon warrior 1 tanked, it would be a rarity today if nintnedo didn't send a copy of it to everyone who had a subscription to np at the time.

You just answered your own question. Earthbound isn't that rare; it's simply in high demand.

I've seen it many of times around here and it sells almost instantly thus you have to be at the right place at the right time (unless someone has an insane price on it). I have two friends that had the game at some point and another that still has one.

How about a Sealed Copy of the game

How about a Sealed Copy of the game

Probably a first-born. Two if they're small.

Sealed Chrono Triggers reach $1000 I believe. I wouldn't be surprised if Earthbound did the same. It might take awhile to find somebody who had that extra $1000 laying around, but I would guess someone would pay it.

How about a Sealed Copy of the game

No such thing if I remember correctly, EarthBound didn't have any shrinkwrap or sticker seals.

The current state of things has 2 loose Earthbounds rotting at a local store at $50 a piece.

It is impossible to find a sealed copy of Earthbound as this game was never offered sealed.

I got my copy for about 150$ about 2 years ago. It is minty and 100% complete. Even my box has no stickers on it whatsoever. I had to buy it 3 time before I found a box I was satisfied with.

Not rare, but rare to find in good shape 100% complete.
