Tell us about your Genesis setup. What model console do you own? (if you own more than one, feel free to list them and note which one you use the most for gaming.) How many controllers do you have? Do you have a Sega CD, 32X (or both) hooked up alongside the Genesis? Do you use a CDX or JVC XEye?
Here's mine:
Model 2 console
2 first-party six-button controllers (not the Majesco ones)
1 first-party three-button controller
1 first-party six-button arcade stick
I don't own a Sega CD or 32X since I have very little interest in either system.
What about you?

CDX
2 Official 6 button controllers
Power Base Converter and 32X and packed away, but are used when needed.
Even though I never owned a 6 button controller when I owed my genny back in the day, I still prefer the 6 button controller.

I had originally used a first edition model 1 with a matching Model 1 Sega CD with a 6-button controller. I just think they look cooler stacked. Since the CD died, I used a couple different systems. Now my setup is a JVC X'Eye that I picked up last week. Now that the new release of Beggar Prince works with the X'Eye, I may have to order a copy.

Nomad is all I use. I have a Model 1 and 2 around and for sale, but I can't seem to get enough for them to even make it worth selling. I keep an original 3-button, 3-button w/ red lettering, and 6-button around just 'cause. I also have an aftermarket controller boxed with the original receipt that I keep for kicks as well. I don't collect for genny really, I just pick up games that I'll play (or are too cheap to pass up).

-Model 2 Genesis console with a 32X attached to it
-Another Model 2 Genesis console with a Model 2 Sega CD attached to it
-2 six-button controllers (one first party and one third party)
-2 first party three-button controllers
-2 third-party turbo controllers (three button): great for rapid fire action in 32X Space Harrier
Some observations I realized from doing this:
I could certainly use another six-button controller, IMO.

MegaDrive 2 (Model 2 NTSC-J unit)
-output via RF at the moment
-3 standard official 6 button controllers
-1 official turbo 6 button controller
-1 1-plug multi-tap
-MegaKey 2 for those pesky lockout games
(I have another Model 1 NTSC-U/C system boxed up somewhere that works too.)

I have an X'Eye and a Nomad. A Genesis 2 somewhere (probably parents house) and two more Genesis 1 systems mothballed for future use.
My main setup is a region modded Genesis 1 with a Sega CD 2 attached.
I either use Sega controllers or Asciiware controllers. Both are great.

Two model 1s. One has a frontloading Sega CD, the other has a (broken) toploader. The one with the broken SCD doesn't get played, because its power switch sticks in the "On" position, and requires great feats of wiggling to get it turned off. Annoying.
I have two first-party 3-button controllers, and one first-party 6-button controller. One of these days, I want to get the Sega CD Memory Cart (I consider that an accessory), and possibly a Power Base Converter, so I wouldn't need to have a Master System connected all the time.

JVC X'Eye with USA/JPN region modification to the cartridge slot. (I wrote the tutorial)
Pair of Performance Super Pad 6-Button control pads, my favorite Genesis controllers which I discovered completely by surprise - wonderful response and a super comfortable directional pad.
Capcom Fighter Power Stick GS, nice little joystick I paid a quarter for - from the guy I would later buy my Pole Position arcade cabinet from years later. LOL
Power Base Converter modified to work with the JVC X'Eye (case mod).
Multi Game Hunter backup device, this is a ROM copier that uses a floppy drive, works with both the Genesis and Super Nintendo. While the amount of SNES games that run on it is limited, it has run absolutely everything for the Genesis I've thrown through it.

model 2 modded with a switch change between us and japanese games with model 2 sega cd. I also have a nomad for gaming in other rooms at my place. I would very much prefer to have my model 1 genesis and sega cd hooked back up but I don't want to deal with the trouble of using a game genie for certain import games.

I have 9 original 3 button controllers, 1 6 button and 1 wireless aftermarket controller (which is a piece of crap). I also own a power base for the master system games that I own.

In the past I've had both standard MegaCD set-ups. Model 1 PAL Megadrive and Mega CD modded with language and 50/60Hz switches and MultiBIOS and a PAL MD2 & MCD2 modded with switches and I used a CD-X+ cart for CD imports. I've always ran them via RGB Scart and used a 6 button pad.
I don't have any consoles plugged into the telly now, but I am considering the construction of a 'JammaDrive', so I can play Thunder Force 4 on one of the Candy Cabs.
If I was going for a MD to plug into the telly now though, it'd have to be either a MultiMega or a Mk1 WonderMega with a MegaCart for CD imports.

Well, it's in storage so it's not technically "set up",
but, as far as what I do have when it is set up goes:

I've also got a Nomad and a Sega 3 (with the Majesco 6-button controller).

Hmm setup, with all 3 power bricks lol.
Sega Genesis Model 1 with EXT Port on the back,9V Power Supply, and an audio wire leading to the Sega CD V1.10 (woohoo motorized drive) for Stereo Audio and another Power Brick at 9V,the Audio Cable leading to the divider from sega cd audio out. And the 32X,Mixing or "overlaying video" from the Genesis, with its 10V Power supply and its Video Out going where the Stereo Audio goes. And occasionaly if i dont want to use my SMS i use the powerbase convertor,by taking off the 32X.

My main setup consists of a model 1 Genesis -- one of the earlier model 1's with no lockout -- with a Sega CD model 2 and a 32x. I have it hooked up with a SCART cable transcoded to component for optimal video quality (and I get the sound out of the headphone jack). I have a Power Base Converter too, as well as an X-Band modem. I have a 4-player adapter and 4 or 5 Sega 6-button controllers. I also own a CDX, X'Eye, and a Nomad, but I don't really use them anymore. Currently occupying the cartridge slot is The Ooze.

Genesis model 2
Sega CD model 2
32X
2 1st party 6 button controllers
Nomad is close by if needed.
Play more 32X games than anything really, Wrestlemania: The Arcade Game, NBA Jam TE, Doom, and Star Wars Arcade don't get too far from the system.

I've got around a dozen Genesis 1 & 2. I have both models of the Sega CD and a 32X with no cords. I use the model 2 Genesis with the model 2 CD for actual playing, and a model 1 with the 32X and CD 1 as a "display" model. And I've got way too many 3 and 6 buttons controllers to count. Also got 2 Menacers, 1 CIB, the other loose and missing some pieces.

I've got a later revision model 1 that's had the cart slot widened to fit Japanese carts. Granted, it's not pretty to look at upclose, but it gets the job done. I've also got a Nomad, a front-loading Sega CD and 32X, which I'll occasionally hook up. My Genesis is bare right now though.

Current setup: Genesis 3 to TV, Nomad with 2500 mAh batteries on the road.
The Genesis 3 came as part of the Nomad bundle I bought off of ebay (Saturn, Nomad, Genesis 3, 18 games for 115 shipped. Not too bad IMO). It serves the purpose for right now, but I evenually would like to get a Genesis/CD/32x combo (modded for s-video), or a CDX if I can find one.
I exclusively use the official 6 button controllers, and I love them.
Once my Nomad dies, after subsequent mourning, I will probably try building a new portable out of the Genesis 3.

I currently have a model 2 hooked up with a three button Sega controller. This is typically used to test used carts I buy at flea markets and such. I still pop in TMNT: Hyperstone ocassionally to play. I also have a model 1 with a Sega CD attached and a model 1 with 32X ready for quick hookup if needed.
Strangley, I have about 20 model 2's that I have purchased over the years for $5 or less at Goodwills and the ocassional yard sale. Very few are complete and are missing cables or controllers but they have all been thoroughly cleaned and tested as working. I have close to fifty controllers of various dispositions which have also been picked up over the years used. I've always told myself that I will be ebaying these but I just never get around to it.

I like this thread :) My genesis setup is...
A genesis two + the sidecard Sega CD + 32X
A Nomad
Two official six button controllers
Two official three button controllers
A programmable six button controller
A six button turbo controller that doesn't work anymore
An official six button arcade stick
A Menacer
A Justifier
Both 4 player adapters
Game Genie
SegaCD Memory cart
And about 265 genny games + 40 cds + 27 32x games...
My fiancee also has a genesis two, but we keep that hooked up in the bedroom. I don't think I've yet taken advantage of the second genesis. I love me some genesis though, needless to say. The fact that everything's dirt cheap for it doesn't hurt. I still want a Mega Mouse :(

I have nothing hooked up, but here's what I have:
Genesis 2 with a SEGA CD 2 and 32x. I use this most often, but usually without the 32x. I also have a CDX, but I haven't used that as I don't have the original power cord (I'll probably start using it after I see how it reacts to the standard cord). I have 2 3 button controllers and 2 6 buttons controllers also.

Wow, that post of mine is about 6 months old now. I still have the spares, though. Never was asking much, like 15-20 w/ a game or two, but I honestly haven't really even tried to sell them in a while.
My Genesis setup has changed a little, as I found a good deal on a CDX a while back, so that's now what I use, although also have the Nomad still just in case.

Genny 1 + SCD 1 + Power Base Converter = Sega Tower of Death! :p If I were to add to it... 32x is an option. I'd like Kolibri, Star Wars and Knuckles Chaotix. I'm just don't feel the proper amount of urge for it to make it happen.
As of now, I have a standard OEM 3-button and Justifier set up on it. Currently playing through Snatcher... again. :D Usually I use the first-party wireless 6-button pads though. I really suggest grabbing a set if you can. Though they tend to be hard to find, they are surely worth it. Also run with the Nomad and I have a Genny 3 that never gets used...

I have a laseractive with the Pac S-10 and Pac S-1 modules that I use for most of the games.
I also have a genesis model 2 with a cd I use when I want to use the memory cart for sega cd games (the cart doesn't work with the laseractive).
I also have a master system converter I gutted and put in a project box that I use on the genesis 2 - probably would work on the laseractive but I have nightmares about the dogs brushing up against it and trashing it while it is attached. Far safer to use it on the out of reach (dogwise anyway) genesis 2.

What I have:
- Genesis 1 (I have the instructions, too!)
- Genesis 2 w\ Sega CD 2 (Eventually going to add a 32X)
- Genesis 3 (I plan on giving this to my sister)
- Who knows how many OEM 3-button controllers
- A X'Eye 3-button controller, and instructions to various X'Eye things (No X'Eye, though)
- Konami Justifier [Blue] light gun (I'm eventually going to try Snatcher...)
- About 10+ Genesis games (Don't have an exact count), 2 32X games (Knuckles' Chaotix and Kolibri), and 1 Sega CD game (Lethal Enforcers)
It's small compared to the collections on here, but not too bad...

Overall, the Genesis is my all-time favorite system for sheer number of fun games, nostalgia, cool accessories, and excellent reliability; i've got:
Model 1 X2 - one is the original system that I bought in 1992, still MINT in the box with Sonic 1 pack-in - this sweetheart is in NEW condition and will stay that way for life!
Model 2 X2 - one is hooked up all the time and played every day.
Mega Drive (U.S. version) X1 - opened once; cool collectors item.
Nomad - mint in box; super cool collectors item.
Sega 3-button Arcade joystick controller.
Original Genesis 3-button controllers X4 - sealed in box (got them on ebay for $10, freakin' bargain!).
Sega-brand 6-button controllers X12 - they still sell them on ebay (videogamewholesale and callistoo, I believe) and are used regularly - the best joypad/controller ever made (IMO); I can play forever with these controllers.
Close to 200 games, most Mint and CIB - haven't taken inventory in a couple of years (for most of these I have a spare (duplicate) cart that I use for gaming).
Storage box full of Sega Genesis Hints/Tips books (go to Amazon.com to get many of them cheap).
I've been debating for years now whether to get the Sega CD and still can't decide - i'm a stickler for carts and wary of CD's - maybe one day.

Nomad
I've got some three button and six button controllers, all Sega brand, and some wireless Genesis Sega brand IR controllers - they work surprisingly well for IR wireless :)

Yeah, my 6-button Sega wireless are IR as well. Having these makes me wish they made something similar for the Saturn and Dreamcast. They are top notch compared to other wireless sets that are 10+ years old that I have tried.
