Alright, so I just finished Tales of the Abyss, and I've already played Symphonia. Right now, I'm trying to decide between two different Tales games: Tales of Eternia for the PSP, and Legendia for the PS2.

Assuming that price is no object (since Eternia is $50 and Legendia is $17), which game would you go for first? I've heard some mixed reviews on Legendia. Is it good?

Neither, go play Tales of Destiny 2 for the PS1. Superior to all the ones that have come since (although Symphonia comes close)

Agreed. ToD2 is the answer to your question.

Uh, guys, Tales of Eternia IS Tales of Destiny 2 on PS1. :P To create more name recognition, Namco renamed it Tales of Destiny 2 for the US release, but when it got ported to PSP and released in PAL territories, it retained its true title. At this point, it's a really confusing matter because there's a Tales of Destiny 2 in Japan for PS2, which is a direct sequel to Tales of Destiny.

If you have a GBA or snes emulator always see how the Tales series started with Tales of Phantasia even.

In my defense I dont own a PSP and know little about the titles released for it haha. On the other hand I own ToD2 for PSX and love the hell out of it. If it's all the same though then go with Eternia.

Tales of Phantasia is extremely watered down on the GBA, I'd go with the SNES TOP through emulation. There's also a translation for the PSX TOP in the works, which is supposed to be the superior version.

Did anybody else find that game almost unplayable? The combat controls were so ridiculously sluggish that it was not enjoyable at all.

Fantasia, I recently bought TOD2 because I read that Tales of Eternia on the PSP had some sort of glitch where you couldn't complete the game so I read on some other forums and ran into TOD2. Man this game is the $h1T!!! I am not a RPG'er but FTW, I highly recommend this PS1 game. Do yourself a favor and BAY it!

Alright, I'm getting Eternia. I'll probably pick up Legendia in a couple weeks, too, just so I have it before it disappears (Tales games seem to be real hard to find in my area). Thanks.
