Soooooo, why hasn't a major release like this been reviewed yet? Mass Effect doesn't come out for over a month, and there are reviews everywhere. I could understand if this were a 3rd party game that doesn't really get much attention, but we are talking about Tony Hawk here! What gives?

It's still a major release game. It may have a lot more of the same, but still it should have a review by now... This thread isn't to trash the game, just curious if anyone has heard anything.

Yep, seems though the reviews today are in, and are a bit skewed, but the game has an average of 81% via gamerankings: http://www.gamerankings.com/htmlpages2/939512.asp?q=proving%20ground
I bought it, and I played a couple hours. There are three paths you can take just like in the demo, they have some awesome classic feel to it, and with me living so close to Philadelphia and Baltimore, it is a real treat to skate in a real city! I love the fact I can skate by a shopping mall that I have actually been to!
It's more Tony Hawk, which isn't a bad thing. The difficulty seems to be turned up a notch, or it could mean that I just suck. I love the new Grind and Manual balancers, seem to help more. Rigging is cool, and I am sure I will be making skate parks when more people get this, but for now I am doing the career track, old school style. If you like Tony Hawk, this is for you. If you wanted something more realistic, go buy Skate! Now excuse me while I do some unrealistic, crazy multi-trick combo.

I have been pondering picking this up at Circuit City since they are throwing in a free copy of Project 8 with that.... anyone play that I never tried project 8 didn't know if it were any good?

I liked it a lot, it's a good upgrade to the THPS series. That circuit city deal is a steal!

Project 8 is decent, but its extremely difficult. The collision detection is a bit off as well.

I couldn't have said it better, Except for the part that THPG comes with the GH3 demo.

Hell, you can buy the newest issue of OXM for the GH3 demo and save $50+. It's also gonna be on Live pretty soon.

I own pretty much every THPS game so I may just have to get this at some point.
I liked the Skate demo better though.

Yeah I picked up thpg, and the free project 8, but didn't open either yet. I had a buy one used and get one half off coupon for gamestop and grabed pgr4 and skate, skate ended up costing me 21 bucks... SWEET, but thats not my reason for this post... crap, this game is awesome. down right FUN.... holy crap, I underestimated the lure of the "flip stick", nice touch. This game is a great time... has anyone tried it online yet? just curious to see if this is fun or lame online.

Skate online is pretty fun if you do spot battle, the other modes are kind of crappy and/or laggy. That and voting on eachother's footage and photos is great.
