View Full Version : Laseractive - Non responsive with Genesis carts

I've got a Laseractive that seems to work great with Mega LD and Sega CD games, but anytime I put a cart in it seems to just lock up. Completely non responsive. Is there some trick to getting it to work? I do have the Genesis pack and not the Mega Drive pack, unless it's been tampered with and changed somehow (no evidence of that anyway). I've cleaned the cart connector but it didn't seem to have any effect.
Suggestions?

I dunno but my Laseractive is real screwy too. I have no problem playing LD's or Genesis carts, but Sega CD games always freeze up after a couple minutes of play. At first I thought the laser needed to be replaced but now I'm thinking that it has something to do with the Genesis module.

Mine seems to work fine for carts, sega cds, and mega LDs (well, the one i have anyway), as well as LD movies. Dunno, maybe there's a part that can fail...that would suck.

Is there something special I need to do to switch it into Genesis cart mode or something? I played about a half hour of Snatcher last night and it worked great. Same with the few LD games I've tried. But with a cart, nothing at all.

As long as you aren't putting them in upside down, carts should start up just like a normal sega cd/genesis combo system. I like how they designed it so they'll fit either way.

Just in case I am putting them in upside down... the label faces up, correct?

Ok, well, so it turns out that when you put the cart in correctly, it works just fine...
<grumble grumble>
Glad I asked before I decided to buy another S10 for this thing. Thanks for the sanity check!!

Yeah... there is supposed to be a little sticker on it that tells you face down. My first one didn't have it and I did the same thing :)
