Was Shining Soul GBA Released in the USA?

I just traded for a copy of Shining Soul for the GBA. I was told it was imported from europe and it is the english version. When I play it ithas a menu at the beginning with the option for the different european languages (English,Germain,Spanish,French,Italian) The thing I don't understand is the box art is different from the European copies I have seen on ebay. Also on the box is says "for sale,rental and use only in USA,Canada,Mexico and Latin America" The serial # on the cart is agb-ahue-usa. Was this game released in the US on a short print run? I was certain it wasn't coming out in North America at all. Or could I possibly have a pirate copy of somesorts? The game plays fine its just that for being a European import I found it odd that it had the different box/serial# Does anyone else have this game? Any info would be cool :D

That sounds like a US game to me. It's not too hard to find US Gameboy games here in Europe, so I suppose it could have been imported from the US, and then sent back across the Atlantic to you.

But as far as I know there was no official US release though.
