Capcom announced ballpark dates and prices to go with some of the downloadable titles they plan to offer on Xbox Live Arcade, PSN and PC in the next half-year. The details were given in London, so to ere on the side of caution, we're going to call these Euro details until further notice -- we doubt that's the truth, but a little caution never hurts. The games are:

Rocketmen: Axis of Evil (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/capcom-brings-rocketmen-and-talisman-to-xbla-and-psn/) -- Holiday '07 (XBLA 800 MS Points ($10), PSN $10)
Commando 3 -- December '07 (XBLA 800 MS Points ($10), PSN $10)
Talisman (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/04/13/capcom-brings-rocketmen-and-talisman-to-xbla-and-psn/) -- April '08
Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix (http://www.joystiq.com/tag/ssfiithd/) -- Q1 '08, but actually "when it's ready (http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3163805)." Capcom also said that (seriously these long titles need to stop) Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo HD Remix on PS3 will be available on PSN "soon" and "global headset support" will launch with the European version. Now if we could just get a better video (http://www.joystiq.com/2007/10/19/first-super-street-fighter-ii-hd-remix-video-is-underwhelming/) of SSFIITHDR we might understand what's taking so long for the prettified update.

WOW... TALISMAN?

I used to play that boardgame 20 years ago. I've still got it in the closet with a bunch of expansion sets. An electronic version of the game is exciting enough. Playing online via XBL? Too cool.

Commando 3???

Was there a Commando 2? Or are they inclding Bionic Commando as part of the franchise? I honestly don't ever remember a Commando 2....

You are correct.

Ah - I had no idea Mercs was part of the Commando franchise. Not to mention, I totally forgot about Mercs, since it was so mediocre..

Echo here for Talisman excitement.

Among other gaming related stuffs my dad collects Games Workshop board games, and owns something like three editions of the game. It's a cool game and would be awesome to play it over live.

No Shit....

This might make me buy a 360. Screw Halo 3.
Will it have revised Prophetess and Necromancer rules?

Mediocre?!

It was a total revamp of the Commando formula. Probably one of my personal favorites from Capcoms arcade history.

They'll probably sell expansion rules as downloadable content.

Commando 2 was Mercs I believe.

I wasn’t aware that Mercs was the sequel to Commando. Checking around the net I saw several websites that stated it was, but the English version makes no references to the original Commando whatsoever. So maybe it was the Japanese version of Mercs that made the correlation?

As far as I know Bionic Commando is part of the Commando series. After all your mission is to rescue “Super Joe”, the hero of original Commando.

It was. The Japanese title of Commando is Senjou No Ookami (translation: Battlefield of the Wolf); Mercs' Japanese title is Senjou No Ookami II.

I agree with that, in the same sense that Salamander, Salamander 2 and Life Force are all part of the Gradius series.

If I were a betting man, and I am. I'd guess that the Talisman game is going to be based off the recently released 4th edition of the game. So it's probably not going to have the expansion stuff at the onset. Maybe later on, as expansions come out for the board game.

I've never played Talisman, but I'm looking forward to trying it out on XBLA, the board game adaptations have been wonderful, I can't imagine this being of any less quality.

I may have to get Rocketmen as well, that game was pretty fun.

I agree 100%. I prefer the Genesis version of MERCS though, with its awesome original mode.

It's been SIX MONTHS.

I've played a bit of Culdcept recently. I like the game but it just isn't nearly as much fun, isn't as deep and yet seems to take longer to play.

Anyone heard ANYTHING about the coming of Talisman for 360?

Trolling the Capcom boards came up with this...not very encouraging.

Change in developer, no updated release date...better dust off the tabletop version.

GAH.

I'm really looking forward to this, I hope it still happens. I'm less excited about GTA IV which everyone else seems to be counting down the minutes for. Now Talisman... that would be something truly original.

*hope*
