Gotta admit I heard very little about this game till a recent thread, but I really like this demo.

The dialogue is witty and fresh, the combat system is easy and non-cumbersome and the graphics are adequet and should run on nearly any system.

I heard they were shooting for a diablo clone with this game and I would say it's the best clone i've seen of Diablo. The first boss fight was cool already and a bit challenging. The skill tree is also pretty nice. This game has some nice little details and while there seem to be a couple of areas that could have been improved overall i'm very impressed and will buy this game already on execution alone as it's easy to get into and fun.

I don't know much about it though, does anyone know how long this game is going to be and can I form parties online?

Edit: Nevermind, I went and read some info:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hellgate:_London

Hellgate: London is a computer game under development by Flagship Studios. The design of the game is similar in a number of ways to the Diablo series. This is due to influence of Flagship Studios co-founders including a number of ex-Blizzard North employees, including Diablo series creators Erich Schaefer and former President David Brevik. The other founders are Erich's brother Max Schaefer, former Blizzard North Vice President Bill Roper, and Diablo II producer Kenneth Williams.

Hellgate: London is an action role-playing game which has some first-person shooter elements in a post-apocalyptic setting. Gameplay is based heavily on the character's stats. The FPS element of Hellgate: London will be seen in the Hunter faction and will require some skill to use. Soft-aim will be included in the game as a form of aim assistance. One preview described the game as World of Diablo, a cross between World of Warcraft and Diablo II.

Seems they have a free and a price structure set up as well for online, with pvp and all that with updated content, etc. This game has really hit me from left field.

I would say it's more like City of Heroes/Diablo II though, as it's much more fast and fun than WoW.

I'm definetely sold on this game.

Holy crap man this game is sweet!

I'm finding out that the skills you use are necessary and the balance of the game is that of the gods!

Crouching is necessary against really tough foes, but you can't move, you can lob grenades, but ricochet them off walls for accuracy.

I just got lucky though and found a rare gun that lobs a grenade that blows up and ignites a fire on the ground that enemies walk through and um.... the zombie walked through the fire, his torso exploded and blood started squirting out as his pair of squirting bloody legs chased me.

This game is the shit! I can't imagine Tabula Rasa is anywhere near as good as this as it's touted as the big mmorpg shooter. It probably has the scope, but this game has the balance and gameplay and fun "fuck yeah" and "Wtf" factor. It's wicked sick.

I'm having loads of fun with this game, most fun i've had with a game since the original Halo on Xbox, and when I first tried WoW.

I was in the beta and it's completely terrible in every way. The skills are horrible, the enviroments are all "ruined subway, ruined street, ruined sewer, hell" and there is a constant fisheye effect that cannot be turned off. There are a ton of bugs, the netcode is crap, the game has the polish of a korean mmo, and the humor is stupid.

Mythos is a lot better and it's going to be free AND its made by the same company. Go with that :D

Yeah but this is a Diablo shooter that you can play online with pvp. Which is exactly the type of game i've been looking for. I like the humor myself and the skills have come in very useful. This is a game that you can see will get very intense and take use of what you learn. So far the boss battles have taken skill even at the starting level which is like Diablo but a step beyond.

How far did the beta let you play? Is there an end and how is the online structure such crap?

I plan on getting this game regardless as it fills the need of what i've been looking toward for the most part, but I would gladly listen to some more opinion.

What makes mythos so great? It looks fantasy based, and unless it's really good i'm kinda tired of the fantasy based themes. Runescape is like the only fantasy based game I like anymore.

More options is what games need nowadays, and less tutorials, lol.

I was unable to come up with an opinion of this demo. I think the full-game will show a different side of things so I am going to wait for some more feedback.

I think it's another game I'll want to play, but I won't want to pay, full price...

PC Gamer gave it 89%.

I've heard hardcore mode is insane and takes every skill you have to beat, and apparently there will be an elite mode as well.

I have prordered this baby and got the collectors edition with lava dye kit. This is the first console/pc game i've been this feverishly anticipated to get my hands on in a long time.

I'd give it a shot but Timeshift and The Witcher (hopefully a sleeper) are being released on the same day...I do want to see how the multi-player is going to work (want to see it in action). I long for the days of the simple co-op of Diablo.

Yep, I'm much more excited about The Witcher as well. I've been eyeing that one since 2004.
