I found the old survival/horror game "D" at a used bookstore, and I was wondering how the game was originally packaged.

I found it in the "long box" sized plastic case (just like Sega CD and Saturn games) with its instruction manual, and with disc one seated as per usual in the case, and discs 2 and 3 in little white envelope slips just sort of floating around inside the case.

Did anyone have this version new, and how was it packaged by the factory?

It was originally released in the black longboxes. Like all of Sony's early realeases for the Playstation.

There is a Saturn version, too... Someone may have switched cases on accident.

Some of the long box PS releases used the Saturn's cases. My friend had a copy of Tekken he bought brand new that came in one.

Really? I could have sworn that Sony also used a different "long box" other than the black ones. Didn't "Battle Arena Toshinden" come in a clear plastic case, too?

I've come across exactly 2 "D" PS games in the wild, both pkged in longbox. I never ever thought I'd find 2. The 2nd had disc sleeves w/ half-circle notches (2 per side) to hold it in place in the case.

JFTR- I sold each for a tidy sum, but it's worth keeping IMO.
