I know that OSG can mod older systems for Sega. I am thinking to have my system modded, but am shopping around for the best price. Anyone know of places and people that can mod my JVC or Genesis model 1 to S-video? Any help would be great. Price is a factor, and thanks for any help.

BTW, I know that the JVC Xeye is supposedly the best way to go on a s-video mod, but I like to play backups instead of the originals for my Sega CD collection(for protection sakes). I know that the JVC can play backups. Anyone have this done, and would like to comment? Thanks for any help, John

You might want to talk to InsaneDavid. He knows his stuff when it comes to the x'eye and genesis.

But I don't do S-Video mods. ;) Thanks for the complement however. :)

And a double whammy $$ wise... 7 months ago $100 USD bought almost $117 Canadian dollars. Today $100USD buys less than $98 Canadian dollars.

Ouch. It's a plus for me buying from the US, but that's about it.

You might want to try the www.neo-geo.com forums. There are guys there who do the NEO mod (similar mod) all the time, and may be able to offer it on the cheap. They can use your X'Eye to try their first X'Eye attempt.. There are guys with no overhead still out there, who need to charge for their time only, and some of them give that away too.

OSG has a toll free number to pay for, 90 day warrantee, shop, computerized database to track all systems in and out of the shop, etc.

Please don't take my post wrong. With text it's easy to misunderstand. On some things, between exchange rate, and overhead OSG does not even try to be the cheapest. Fact of the matter is, as a business, chasing the 'cheapest' is a means to an end that goes nowhere, as someone else can always be cheaper. Therefore, we focus on being the best, best rep, best accessibility, best reliability, best quality, best experience with the most consoles, etc.

There are guys out there (some at NG.com) who can beat my pricing. So, since that is a factor, post there, and you will find more choices.

I hope that helps!
