I sold a game on eBay last week, and sent it this last Wednesday. I forgot to add the delivery confirmation number to the statement until yesterday. So I added it.

A few minutes later, the buyer emailed me saying the item never arrived at his home, even though it's marked as delivered.

I replied with this:

That's strange - I shipped the item to this address in the PayPal invoice:

*blanked out*
San Diego, CA 92127
United States

I have the Delivery Confirmation receipt with me, and this is the
exact same address I wrote on the envelope. I don't understand what is
going on here, but I did send the item... I sent a small 7"x7"x6" box
with your two Starcraft games, plus two extra ones to make up for the
shipping delay. I really don't know what to say, I suggest you call
your local post office and ask what's going on, since this is out of
my control.

I wish I could do more, but this is out of my hands.

Thanks for contacting me. Hope this gets sorted out soon.

What can I do? I'm not sure if I did the right thing. I don't want a negative and I don't want a chargeback either. I sure as heck don't want the guy to not get his games, either.

Is there anything else I can do?

So far, you've done the right thing.

Further, you have a verifiable, legit Delivery Conf. number, so you'll be fine.

How do I know? A year or two back, I paid a guy $150 through Paypal for some automotive parts. He sent them to me via UPS, I received the package, but instead of automotive parts, I got a box filled with newspaper and two 2-liter bottles filled with water. Naturally I disputed this with Paypal, but they ruled in his favour as he was able to provide a tracking number proving that he sent me a package.

Based off of my experience, you should be okay. Don't sweat it.

PS - For those wondering, I got my money back after I found out that this guy had ripped off a bunch of other people in his area (Washington), and I rounded them all up, led by my friend who is also from Washington, and had them all pay a visit to his house. hahahaha :)

^^ Thats awesome hahaha!

But yeah, you should be good because you have the DC number. Gotta love those idiots that say a package didn't show up even though you have proof it did.

I don't think he's an idiot. I had this happen to me once, it turned out the morons at my mail place returned the item because something wasn't written right on the label. I spent A MONTH waiting for the package to be returned to the sender. I was not amused. At least he apologized and sent it back to me free of charge (even though I told him to demand that PayPal refunded the shipping, since it was THEIR fault the item was lost for a month.)

Meh. I'm contacting him tomorrow again. Hopefully he's figured out what's going on by then.
