I cannot seem to find a copy of Contact for the DS in any store in my area. I searched all over the place and my searches have only yielded one loose copy at GameStop. Also, online many stores note it as being "in limited stores only"....
Enlighten me. Have any other game hunters noticed noticed this title as being uncommen in general, or is it just my area?
I may have glimpsed it one time only around its launch..... ????

It never got massive distribution like a lot of DS titles, although it was available at Circuit City, Fry's, KMart and Toys R Us. The only major retailer I know of that might have it in stock is KMart. It's a clearance game and with the 30% off this week, it's under $20 new. I saw copies at several stores this past weekend. Good luck.

There's three copies at full price at my local WALMART of all places! They've been there for months!

Well, the game was published by Atlus, infamous for their low print runs and quirky titles. It took a decent amount of hunting about two weeks after launch for me to find it.

However, as has been said K-Mart may very well be your friend, they tend to carry hard to find games etc far longer because of the low traffic. I myself have found some great stuff there.

When you do find it, Contact is a solid game very unique. Earthbound-ish in humor, with a level up system like Ive never seen before.

Everything said above is pretty spot on. Atlus stuff has always been horrible to get coupled with the fact that places like EB/GS didn't get them until way later and in very limited quantities. I got mine last year at a Best Buy (and at the time) was the only place I ever saw the game.

I saw some, both new and used, at FYE last weekend. When I saw them I remember thinking to myself that it had been a while since I had last seen the game on shelves, so I don't think it is only a regional thing.

God, it seems like I see it everywhere. New, used, whatever. Everywhere. It's disappointing, because I loved it. It was my favorite game from last year, period. More people should buy it, so I don't get depressed see stores that can't seem to get rid of them.

Agreed. It's super available in my area as well.

Ordered it online from Amazon about a year ago.

Really, it's not that great. There are occasional flashes of brilliance (namely Habara), but while you don't necessarily have to grind much to finish the game, there is an awful lot of material that you can only see by grinding, grinding, grinding. Might be ideal if you're going to serve a long-term prison sentence, I imagine.

I stopped playing after spending a rather disturbing amount of time trying to catch The King at Fort Eagle.

I got it on it's release date at Meijer of all places. THe game is very easy to find in my area.

I myself like the game quite a bit. Can only think of a couple titles (Hotel Dusk Room 215, New Super Mario Bros.) That I like more.

The game is nice blend of Zelda, Earthbound, and a level up fest. As stated, it can be extremely hard to figure out what to do next. I spent a few hours wandering around trying to figure out where to go or what to do. Put the game away a few times before I finally finished it. Great sense of accomplishment after it was said and done though. Lots of optional stuff to do.

I wish better use of the top screen would have taken place. Would have been a great way to give a player hints/clues had they been stuck for too long.

I have seen that game at practically every store I go to in md. I see it used and new. not quite elusive yet and I believe the price dropped.

Contact is clearanced at all Circuit City stores for $16.96. It may pay to check there first.
