Anyone else remember these?

My work just bought a huge collection of Transformers, Go-Bots, Voltron and other 70's-80's robots from a vintage toy store that closed and I was trying to find some info on Shogun Warriors die-cast toys and I found this. That website is really cool, I've used it before for Go-Bots info but never saw the video arcade gum.

Yup.

I used to buy those at Kay-Bee Toys when I was a young'un. The gum inside looked a bit like Wonka Nerds ... it was in small nuggets.

If memory serves, I think you needed to pretty much destroy them to get the gum out though, which is probably why many never survived.

It's the same stuff as those little mini milk carton gum containers that replaced these up next to the register at Kay-Bee after the arcade era passed. Remeber those to? There was orange, apple, and grape if I remember correctly.

Oh, absolutely. Do they still make those?

I remember the portioning of the stuff always got me ... it was WAY too much for one mouthfull, but always tempting enough to try to do the whole thing at once.

We have cases of the old Donkey Kong Trading Card packs from the 80's. (although I wouldn't eat the gum anymore!) Same with TMNT cards, original Mario Bros cards, etc.

I'd love to see if anyone still has a box of the PacMan cereal...

Anyone remember what they were called and if you can still buy them anywhere?

... Fuck me, I know what you're talking about. I know that candy, I used to eat it when I was in grade school!

I don't think I've seen a box of the stuff in at least two years, though. I think some local street vendors may still have a few...

I have the whole set of the gum. You can see them to the left on the first shelf.

I love me some Shogun Warriors! :D I have a few diecast ones as well as 3 Jumbo ones.
If you are still in search for some info on them you may want to check out this site. http://www.wildtoys.com/Shogun/index.asp He has a pretty good wealth of info I found to be helpful in my earlier research. :)

Yep, that's the site I use too. I wish he had close up pictures of the 3" robots out of the boxes. I have Leopaldon, Combattra and Dragun in average condition and a couple of the ships so far. For some reason I was getting that persons site confused with Super Toy Archive.
