Anyone have an idea where I can find the instruction manual and(or) reference card for the U-Force. I picked this up at a garage sale and I have no idea if it works and I didn't want to spend another $8 buying the manual off of Ebay.
Thanks- John

I know there are sites that have copies of manuals, but I can't recommend any because I don't use them. You could try to search for them if you haven't already. Otherwise, I'm sure one of the other members can point you in the right direction.

I have googled it and had no luck.
Thanks

If anyone is interested, my friend Greg and I talked about the U-Force in a recent episode of our podcast:

Episode 85 (http://paunchstevenson.com/2007/10/01/episode-85/)

John10774, I'm curious to know if you're able to get the U-Force to work well with any games. I never could. Has anyone?

The Uforce works fine with Mike Tyson's Punch out. The controls in that game are so simple, all you do is dodge left most of the time and hit a,b or start. The Uforce suffers on games that use the d-pad extensively which is about 95% of games.

You can simulate a boxing match using the Uforce alot better than you could the Power glove.

Someone should do a comparison of the two and see which one is better for specific games and such. Like rad racer, Uforce has a setting specifically for that game but I have never tried it and it doesn't seem like anything would happen. The Power glove, as was seen in the wizard, can be used like you are gripping a steering wheel which probably doesn't work all that great but whatever.

Can the U-Force recognize high punches and low punches?

I feel like $70 was way too much money to spend on something that only worked well with one or two games.

The technology simply wasn't ready yet. As a result, I've always thought the U-Force and the Power Glove were wastes of money.

You may as well sniff turds to see which one smells better.;)

Now I know where Nintendo got the idea for their Wii controls. LOL

Agreed, I will still force myself to play through that game that uses both the power pad and power glove one day just because. I forgot the name but that game is complete shit.

I've never heard of this game. What is it?

Sorry I think I lied. I was combining "Street Cop" and "Bad Street Brawler". I think Street Cop uses the power pad and lightgun and you probably could use the power glove but it is not specifically designed for it. Bad Street Brawler was 1 of only 2 games designed for the Power Glove per wikipedia. I own both of these games but have probably spent about 30 seconds on each one. Bad.

Yes, the U-Force can recognize high and low punches. I have one that I used to play with Mike Tyson's Punchout, and it did distinguish between face and body blows. The U-Force has different sectors in it, and depending on where you swing your fist, the punch may be high or low.

Unfortunately, I share your opinion about the U-Force and the Power Glove. They were very innovative ideas, just way ahead of their time.

Still, I bought both rather cheaply on ebay, and I am glad to have them in my collection.

I have a sealed one in the attic. I heard they sucked so much that I never opened it... and now I'm glad I didn't haha

Yes, and I feel the the same way about the Virtual Boy. It was a cool idea, but the technology wasn't ready yet. The concept was too ambitious for its time, like the U-Force and the Power Glove.

I wish more games used more than one controller. Some games used say, a pad and a gun. I wish there were a game that used the control pad, gun, and power pad (the smb/dh/wctm cart doesn't count).

I wish someone made a game that required you to use all three of those and the Power Glove and Uforce at the same time.

I guess that would've been cool, but remember, the NES only had two controller ports. Using three or four different controllers would've required a Four Score or a Satellite.

Whatever Rob, why do you want to use all these controllers when you get the best of all worlds with the suck and blow controller.
