A little over one day is left on this auction:

The last bid I've seen is about $34. The seller also offers a duplicate auction with a steep "Buy It Now" price:

Are either of these worth a shot, or should I pass? I'm not a fan of paying more than something is worth.

The former, yes; the latter, no. And note that both sets are missing only Micro Machines from being truly complete.

Hmmm...alright, thanks. I'll see if I can snipe the first auction at the last minute.

EDIT: I just noticed that the second auction includes free shipping in the U.S. and ends a mere minute later than the first auction. Should the better deal suddenly become too rich, I may just attempt to snatch the second, because I have a feeling the first auction is going to be climbing.

There must be thousands of these sets out there. I've seen BIN's as low as the $50-60s before. I wouldn't pay the opening price or the BIN on the 2nd link.

I have a feeling there's a ton of these out there. These auction have been going on a while, and I remember a few pallets worth of systems selling for like a buck a piece last year.

I bought a full set last year for about $50 and e-mailed the seller with questions. He told me that he had several huge containers of everything... leftovers from when QVC tried to sell them on TV a while back. I don't know what he has left but it sounded like he was going to be selling them for a lobg time.

Yes, and the same seller was selling them merely 3 months ago for $55 BIN (if I recall correctly) for the whole set (system plus all 6 other games)...which is why I'd shoot for the first before the second. Heck, I know someone who's looking to sell a set for $80 shipped...but I think he's missing a game or two...

Well, I managed to win the first set! The final price was just a hair over $37, and I'm rather pleased at this point. This constitutes the first item(s) I own with a DP rarity of 7 or greater! Now I just need to find an open set and an Aladdin Micro Machines so I can play the games.

There are more sets available than I think there are serious NES collectors. At least thats how I felt went I passed up the chance to buy them in bulk.

You're probably right, Buyatari. I imagine Codemasters/Camerica had a huge (for an unlicensed company) production run for the ADE. I sure wish I'd had the same opportunity.
