Looks like a printing error on cart #1 to me. Interesting.

I too agree that it is a printing error. It looks like the black wasn't lined up correctly. That is terrible, in my shop we would discarded anything lat off registration.

Beasts? I think that needs an R in there somewhere, then we're talking. Or even "Altered Beasts" would be a fun variant. Without that, eh, no dice; it should just be the normal release / pack-in release / classics and six-pack (or whatever else it was in)

One of my friends used to call it "Alternate Beasts" back in the arcade heyday. I tried to get him to STOP pronouncing it this way to no avail. Not exactly on topic, but what was said in the last post just reminded me of that :)

Back on topic, I think this may be the first time I have ever seen a Genesis printing error on cart.

I used to have a copy of Uncanny X-Men 300 that was printed like that. The holo-foil was not centered correctly on the cover.

Dude, you need an attitude alteration. AB is a great game...all fifteen minutes of it, as rpepper says. The box art alone is worth the price of entry (at least at today's prices).

Because obviously those slackers at Sega of Amurrica had a quota of errors to fill.

Or maybe you don't see those in Europe (in your stunningly representative survey sample of one cartridge) because some crazy European government directive makes it illegal to sell misprinted labels after an elderly person accidentally swallowed a misprinted Pac-Man cartridge straight from the box. Who knows? MADNESS!
