I'm looking for an old RGB monitor to use with my NES and Atari 8 bit. What are some good options?

When it comes to old RGB monitors, I highly recommend the Commodore 1084S, which can handle virtually any signal you throw at it. The president of Tiburon (the makers of Madden) told me that his company snatches every 1084S it sees on eBay, such is their infinite usefulness.

Keep in mind that the NES does not natively output RGB.

Yes. there is no cost effective way of getting an NES to output RGB. Trust me, i've tried. As for RGB monitors, I have a Sony PVM 1910 Triniton that I got off of ebay for a hundred Somalians, and I am most happy with it.

I have 2 RGB monitors. One is a SNES display model that I got last year. Quite nice and with flat screen as well. I also have an older RGB m0onitor that also has composite input and RF input and is probably the only plain vanilla TV I know of that takes RGB input. It's used with my 128D and since it takes multiple input I could play in 128 mode and in C64 mode without switching monitors. That monitor's almost as old as the 128D itself.

Thanks for the replies everybody. Since there is no cost effective way to output the NES signal to RGB, how can I hook it up to a monitor? I thought I read one here a while back that it was a good idea to get a great picture.

hook up an nes to a monitor that has A/V inputs, such as the aforementioned Sony PVM 1910 or a Commodore Amiga monitor (1084, 1084S, etc). Video quality will not be significantly better than that of an NES hooked up to a regular TV via A/V.
