What is the circulation of certain games? For Example level 5 rarity is 30,000 level 6 25,000. What do you think the rarity really means? Now a good guide would be like stadium events. I've read there was only 2,000 of them made. I would only think around 1,000 still are in cirulation. What are your opinions. I'm only guessing when I throw out these numbers.

Interesting notion, b ut I think it would be difficult to pin down. Each console and each generation of console would like have to be different. There are going to be more PS2 games in circulation than Xbox for example. Older systems are going to have more games in the rarer categories though commons will still be common...just to tough a chart to develope without full disclosure of how many copies of every title were actually manufactured.

There may only be 1-2k known copies of Stadium Events out there but, there should have been 10k produced. I remember reading in Game Over that Nintendo required all licensed companies to produce/buy atleast 10k carts. I would guess some got destroyed or are sitting in a warehouse in the desert somewhere.

I am not sure what the current policies are regarding the minimum amount of copies printed.

It is hard to find out how many of a certain game was produced unless you have some kind of insider information. I've always said that eerybody should take one copy of the same common game and destroy it so it will be that much rarer. I say everybody takes a copy of Dragon Warrior 1, save one for themselves, and destroy another one. That way the more Dragon Warriors we destroy, the harder the game will become to find. Actually I'm kidding, it would be a waste of time.

Could you imagine coming across 500 sealed copies of Stadium Events? Would you disrobe and roll around in them?

The rarity guide is an estimation and won't always be current. Things will become more rare over time, also collectors will hold onto their copies to create somewhat of a fake shortage as well. The number destroyed will slowly go away over time unless somehow everyone's been hiding a complete collection in the basement and suddenly flood eBay or toss them out in the trash. I wouldn't doubt if a lot of eBay items have been resold dozens of times by now for both rare and common games. But once again, it's an estimation and locally some '1' commons rarely popup for whatever reason. Shoot, I haven't seen a Jaguar game in nearly a year.
