View Full Version : Guitar Hero III 360 - wired controller?

My fiance just picked up Guitar Hero 3 from Wal-Mart. Brings it home, and it has the old Xplorer wired controller bundled with it.
We call back, and they said all of them are like that. Call the other Wal-Mart that's close and their's are the same.
What the heck happened here? I can't find anything on any site about a bundle with the old controller. Why they would even make a bundle with the old controller is beyond me.
Now I'm dissapointed and have to return it and wait until later to try to find a copy with the real controller.
Anyone else know anything more about this?

Not trying to be an ass, but, are you sure you got GH3 and not GH2? GH3 should have the Les Paul wireless whereas GH2 has the white Explorer. GH3 has slash on the cover. I am even surprised Wal-Mart would have GH3 out at midnight.
Also, the bundle box for GH3 is smaller and the guitar comes in two pieces. Sounds really weird if you got a GH3 bundled with the old guitar.

Yeah, definitely positive it's 3.
I dont' understand why they would even have a bundle with the old crappy wired guitar. Who wouldn't want the NEW guitar with their NEW game for only 10 more dollars than my fiance paid for this.

We just had a midnight opening for GH3 at my GameStop.
They most definitely had the NEW WIRELESS in there for all versions.

Now I have to hunt this variant down. So, it was only 79.99 instead of 89.99? Did it come in a box that is the same size as Gh2? As I am guessing this guitar does not come in two pieces.

I guess this is just a Wal-Mart thing from doing some reading over at the xbox.com forums.
