I just got the PS2 version. So far, I have one little gripe with the game:

The Rising Sun skin for the Explorer is gone. IT'S GONE. That was MY skin in Guitar Hero 1 and 2, and they took it out! Dammit. ;_;

If anyone wants to add me to their Wii friend list, I play in expert. I'm pretty good, but I've yet to beat Lou.

I just read Guitar Hero 3 made 100 million its first week. Man that is unbelievable for a instrument game.

Slayer AND Dragonforce in one game...I understand they need to SELL copies of the game, but for the love of Demogorgon, couldn't they pick something better than the amateurish, sloppy fretwork and root bass notes from the former and the high-speed wankery of painfully simple patterns and infuriating embracing of every power metal cliche` in the book by the latter?

It's enough to turn a metal fan off the game, but at least they didn't try to include something from Angela-era Arch Enemy...but they did give us an entirely atrocious offering from In Flames. What the hell were they THINKING by choosing "Take This Life?" Sales again, apparently, as anything from "Moonshield" to "Jotun" to "Ordinary Story" would have been orders of magnitude better, but I'm presuming Guitar Hero's demographic leans more toward mallcore kiddies that I originally thought...

If you're thinking of buying the Guitar Hero 3 soundtrack CD for the 3 downloadable songs....DON'T.

Carcinogen Crush...another new AFI song, whoopee.
Tina...awful song, boring chart. Great if you like Kittie I suppose.
Putting Holes In Happiness...I don't know, I haven't gotten past the repeated scales in the beginning. I don't really want to either.

The CD wasn't a total waste, as it does have the new version of Cult Of Personality plus Devil Went Down To Georgia.

Also, online battle mode is about as fun as the boss battles in career. Which is to say, not at all. This game is slowly losing its appeal to me.

Can anybody recommend me any good strategies for the Guitar Battles? I'm a casual GH3 gamer and it seems i'm a little stuck on the Battle against Slash. I can get him into the red but he always seems to recover. How to deal the final blow?

Wait until he's in the middle of a combo to attack him. If you get the "Difficulty Up" attack, use it right before it's his turn to play.

I lost against him on the first try, the game wouldn't send me attacks and he used instadeath against me. :(

You know what would be on crazy Idea. In guitar hero 4 if there was a challenge mode where you could do a crossroad type of battle with the devil only if you lose all of your data is wipe clean. If you win you get free downloadable content.
