You guys need to look into a user here under the alias "King Neptune". It's David Pendergast aka "Hounder", the once very respectable member at Digital Press/NintendoAGE/NESWorld and a few other places. It was recently found out that "King Neptune" was scamming a bunch of people over at NintendoAGE, including myself. Here are a few thread that you should read up on:

http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=3377&enterthread=y - A thread created by NGD with a running total of what he owes people; dated 10/29/2007
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=6&threadid=2913&enterthread=y - A recent thread where David is selling manuals under the King Neptune alias, later found out to be fraudulent ; dated 10/07/2007
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=3161&enterthread=y - member UncleTusk warns members about him; dated 10/17/2007
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=7&threadid=1554&enterthread=y - David apologizes for ripped people off, very apologetic; dated 07/22/2007
http://www.nintendoage.com/forum/messageview.cfm?catid=5&threadid=1541&enterthread=y - The original thread where it was first discovered that David was scamming; dated 07/20/2007

Long story short: It turns out that King Neptune is David Pendergast. I checked a few other message boards to see if he also created an account there, and viola, he's on Digital Press as well. I'm 100% sure it's the same guy. If you look at this thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107390) (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=107390) he was trying to sell some of the same exact items that he was selling on NintendoAGE (and already sold too), but that thread was locked due to it being in the wrong section. I'm not sure if he has initiated any deals with members here, but please take the necessary precautions and measures to protect your members.

MODS/Admins, be aware that he has at least 5 known emails that we have found already and prob. more. He has at least 2 IP's as well for sure. All 5 of his emails are ebay accounts so he is for sure out to scam people. He was a close friend of mine and has now scammed me personally. If anyone here has been scammed please post or contact me via pm so I can add you to the list.

I plan to contact the proper agencies and see what can be done about all this once and for all. Please be careful and watch over the members here as well.

Admins or Mods please contact me if you need futher info and I will gladly provide it. I am a Admin on Nintendoage, and nesforums and a MOD on nesworld.

He only lives about 4 1/2 hours away from me! If the address on nintendoage is accurate. I never hear the results from these type of incidents. Does anything ever get done about this crap? It would be nice to hear they are suffering just as they have made many others suffer!

well here is the latest info. I have been in contact with him all day and he is scared. And he damn well should be. He claims everything is in mail for all the memebers but 1 and he is working on that one.

From Hounder

Limbofunk - Working on this one.....
Dain - 9102 1501 3471 1027 7417 50
UncleTusk - I haven't got tracking for this either but he should receive it tomorrow being that he lives 3 hours away from me. Thursday at the very latest.
Dangevin - I thought I paid this back?? I just now saw this on the list. (read below)
Langenfeld - 9102 1288 8230 0039 5886 83
OCDsteeldor - 9102 1501 3471 1026 4953 95

If I scammed people my conscience would ruin my life. I don't know how people can do it. I would be sick with myself.

He ain't scared....He said that 3 months ago when he started this crap. He's just buying time. Just build a case and forward it to the local authorities. If the material is there, you can get him for mail fraud. You'll probably never get your things or money out of him. Judging that the number of people getting ripped off and the money total is starting to mount up, the locals may actually bother to pick him up.

Well, this is the second time that he's done it. He did it a while ago as "Hounder" and now hes doing it as "King Neptune."
Why is he doing it? It's my opinion that he has a compulsive buying problem, and will do anything to get the cash to buy rare NES stuff. Before he was basically kicked out of the NES scene, he was buying insanely expensive stuff (NES-wise) and I think he was only 21. I buy a lot of stuff too, and I'm only 21, but the items he was purchasing were on a whole different level than me.
He offered me $1500 for my sealed Hot Slots about a year ago, I said no, but it was stuff like this that he was buying.
So he probably had to result to scamming people to get the money to feed his compulsion.

Still no excuse of course! I love buying games as well, but I would never steal money to buy them. The majority of collector`s work really hard for the extra cash to spend on video games. I think people like this should be hung by their balls from a lightpost!
