Every system starting with PS1, the answer is Madden. Any other answer is wrong.

I think the OP wasn't saying that it wasn't Madden, but more like, he didn't want that to be an answer- because everyone, like you, would say "Madden." He also excluded all sports games too.

Yeah, I realize there's no Madden for NES or Sega MS. Specialty sports games might be interesting to mention like "Blades of Steel" which someone listed. You can mention games like Madden and NCAA Football, but I just thought that would make the thread a little less interesting.

Agreed... I understood what you're doing- some people just look for things to disagree with or someone to tell they're wrong.

Recently I've noticed a million Super Scope 6 cartridges everywhere, with no Super Scope itself to be found. Also, every single place around here has had the same ultra-common R1 2600 games for the last six months or so. For $3/each, they're not going anywhere.

Come to think of it, I've been seeing a lot of them too... could you buy the game without the gun? I know of a comic store that has 3 or so.

Wow, same here. I guess all the scopes are still in people's closets and garages all across North America. In a way, I hope I never come across one, because I know I'd buy it, and I really don't have any more room.

I added a few systems to the original list at the top of this thread. I always see these games below. I respected the original poster by not including Madden but even if I had chosen to, those are not the most common games where I look. So this list is actually accurate. Note that I did NOT include Mario/Duck Hunt, so I used the two NES games that are next on my list locally (since they are in the same series anyway and virtually identical).
Atari 2600: E.T.
ColecoVision: Carnival
Atari 5200: Missile Command
Atari 7800: Ms. Pac Man
Sega Master System: Gangster Town
NES: Bases Loaded & Bases Loaded 2 (I excluded Mario/Duck Hunt)
Sega Genesis: NFL 94
GameBoy: Tetris
SNES: WWF Super Wrestlemania
Game Gear: Sonic The Hedgehog 2
Sega CD: Sewer Shark
Sega 32X: Metal Head
3DO: Gex
Atari Jaguar: Checkered Flag
Saturn: Daytona USA
PlayStation: none actually, too f**king many games in the PS1 library so I rarely see the same game twice no matter where I am looking
GameBoy Color: Pokemon Silver
Nintendo 64: NFL Quarterback Club 99
Dreamcast: NBA 2K1
Playstation 2: Power Drome followed by NFL 2K3
GameCube: Blowout
GameBoy Advance: The Incredibles
XBOX: NCAA Football 2003

Yes. I also keep bumping into the loose super scope cart pack-in, but not one super scope. Same with Battleclash.
I'm gonna stray away from the obvious choices and go with carts that just happen to pop up a lot recently. Two NES games I keep running into this season are Lee Travino's Fighting Golf and Jeopardy 25th Anniversary Edition. I've got around 3 copies of each and I still run into these carts every weekend. World Class Track Meet is another (yeesh...some times they are over taking the SMB/Duckhunt carts). One of these days I'm gonna find a Stadium Events amongst these damn WCTM carts.
The stock usually shuffles around out here every couple of months. I remember one period where Track n' Field was everywhere. Now no one has it. One period everyone had a copy of Dynamite Headdy. Same thing, now no one has it.

First off, ryborg, your SDRE userpic makes me bow down and worship you.
And in terms of common games....
NES: Mario/DH, Pinbot
Mega Drive: Sonic, Sonic 2, Rise Of The Robots, Ballz
N64: F1 World Grand Prix, Pokemon Snap
Saturn: Tomb Raider, Wipeout, Virtua Fighter 2
PSX: too many to list, but the Army Men games and any crappy racing game are at the front of the pack.
PS2: GTA San Andreas (and the others), Enter The Matrix, Ultimate Spiderman, and FIFA or Pro Evo game.

Haha, good to know that one of my favorite bands still has fans out there.
Saturn: Tomb Raider, Wipeout, Virtua Fighter 2I haven't seen ANY Saturn games in the wild over the last few years. I think my definition of "the wild" is a little bit different than some. I don't consider a used game store or ebay "the wild," while I do consider it thrift stores, pawn shops, flea markets and garage sales. I mean, it's a game store/internet, it's supposed to have thousands of games.

What's interesting to me is that the most common Atari 2600 cartridges (Ms Pac-Man, Combat, Asteroids) are some of the best games in the library while the best games in the Odyssey2 library are some the rarest (Turtles, Killer Bees).
Classic Home Video Games 1972-1984 (http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Home-Video-Games-1972-1984/dp/0786432268/ref=sr_1_1/102-4833994-2708962?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1180844138&sr=8-1)

Remember - O2 was the red-headed step child of the Atari VCS/Inty generation - Odyssey was even uncommon, back in those days. I was the only person I ever knew, that had one. Before I got my Atari in 1981, I was treated like a freak for even having one (that changed when it turned out that the O2 had the better version of "Pac-Man").
And as with most consoles, most of the rarest games on any system, come out at the end of the system's shelf life. Killer Bees and Turtles were both at the end of the O2's lifesapn. Turtles was the last new Odyssey game I remember buying, back in 1983. I wanted Power Lords, but I never saw it at any store. Even our local Magnavox store never had it.
And speaking of Odyssey 2 - I'll add Monkeyshines to my list. Every time I see a bunch of O2 games for sale, in the wild, or on Ebay, Monkeyshines is always in there.
