Looks like a Xmas pack... I wonder how it will look after extended use? Could be sweet though.

Looks pretty ugly to me.
I'll eventually pick-up a white DSL, but until then, I'll stick with my launch brick. *hugs*

Guess Nintendo are making the gold Zelda version available to the US this time (after having the gold GBA SP as Europe only before).

DAMMIT! I told myself I wouldn't get a Lite unless some Zelda themed one came along... ugh. I guess someone on my list will be getting the spare copy of Phantom Hourglass for Xmas...

cool for display, very ugly for use in public though, to me it would look like some kinda womans makeup kit or something...

Yeah it does, but this is like a sure was for Nintendo's pockets to get fatter with cash and, about 6 months down the line anyone who is selling them on ebay will as well.

I can't imagine why anyone would continue to use a brick now that the Lite is out. Never before has a redesign improved so much on the original. I can't even look at a brick's screen anymore without wanting to break it out of frustration.

It turns out that the bottom black half of a Crimson DS Lite actually has a rough, matte finish rather than the shiny (and scratchable?) surface found everywhere else. Seems like a cost-cutting measure to me. Perhaps these new models will be the same?
(And is that yet another Nintendogs game on the left?)

Because not everyone can afford to buy two versions of the same system? :-/

The DS Phat is also arguably easier to hold.

great, now im gonna buy another ds system... this will be number 3. but im not opening this one, just putting it on the shelf near my unopened NES gba. i did sell my fat ds as soon as i go the lite.
personally i think it looks fabulous. i like the triforce in the corner. i hope its like a pearlescent gold, not just bland mustard gold.
i already have 2 GBAs, 2 PSPs, 2 360s, 2 GCs, damnit make it stop!

Its the same Nintendogs version (Best Friends) that was bundled with the Teal and Pink DS Phats that came out a christmas or two ago.

I bought a regular DS and I still use it all the time. Some of the DS lites have screens that blur or turn yellow over time, and the black and red DS lite has an issue where the screens are slightly yellowed, all of them.

I just bought a new Polar White DS (3 days ago) and the touch screen has a yellowish tint to it when I turn it on so I don't think it's just the black and red ones.

The gold SP did come out in North America. I have one.
Does anyone know for sure what store is doing this, and when? I'd really like to get one.

I will definitely buy that.
I don't have Phantom Hourglass yet, nor do I own a DS Lite. I'll just play this once in awhile and still use my DS Phat when I'm out and about.
Looks nice!

Okay, Sunday is here and the Black Friday ads are in the paper. The Sears ad mentions nothing whatsoever about the gold DS. However, the Gamestop ad does! Now, I'd rather not go to Gamestop if I can help it. Does anyone know for sure if Sears is getting this or not? Where did that idea originally come from?
Please help me avoid giving Gamestop money!

^ game stores don't make diddly squat on game consoles, so feel free to buy the system there and make sure you decline the warranty, since that's how they make money.

I know how game store economics work. Perhaps I should've phrased my last post differently.
Please help me not give Gamestop buisness at all.

The Black Friday ads come out on Thanksgiving. I know because I work at the newspaper and have been studying them all weekend. The gold and pink DS lites I have seen available at Sears, K-Mart, Best Buy, Circuit City and Toys R Us. They were not advertised in the Sunday ads though.
On another note, Circuit City is gonna have Mario Galaxy for $35.

It does look like K-Mart has the best deal. If you buy a DS lite or PSP you can get a $25 gift card by mail in offer.

The fact that these exist is now official, even though Nintendo still hasn't officially announced the thing:

That looks pretty legit to me
I'm definitely going to buy one as soon as I see one.

I don't know if this helps, but I know walmart plans to sell this online and in store starting tomorrow, so I think most stores ie. target etc, will be carrying this.
