This is a computer game that I remember playing about 10 years ago, but I can't remember the name at all. It starts out with you at a carnival and you play some type of game at a booth. When you win, you get to pick between three little cupie-like dolls, and the size of the doll you pick decides the difficulty level of the game (i.e. the biggest doll was the hardest difficulty, I think). Once you pick the doll, you get like transformed into it and the guy at the game booth transports you to an island where you're stuck until you can solve a bunch of puzzles and collect certain items. I remember one of the puzzles involved a catapult. That's about all I can recall. Did I dream this up? I can't find a thing about it at all. X_x

Sorry I'm not sure, but you might want to hit up the Underdogs forums. Digitpress is more console oriented but Underdogs is all about older PC games.

Actually there's a lot of people here who play more computer games then console game, myself included.
Sadly though I can't think of the game you're describing. Perhaps with more details.
Last game I played at with a carnival location (more a fun fair really) was Panic in the Park from 1995, starring Erika Eleniak, and you had to collect tokens (can't remember what kind of tokens) for solving the puzzle (12 different puzzles).

Geez guys, what planet have you all been living on? The game you are looking for is The Secret Island of Dr. Quandary (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Secret_Island_of_Dr._Quandary), a true classic.
May I also add that Home of the Underdogs is a complete mess these days and not worth your time. If you can't find a copy of it PM me and I'll help you out.

Ouch, that's harsh. Slow and stagnant, perhaps, but a complete mess? (It seems most people who have trouble downloading simply have Norton Internet Security filtering their referer URLs.)

I stand by what I said and I've never used any Norton products. The site is a mess, it has always been a mess, and the redesign I've seen discussed every now and again is never going to happen. It's too bad Abandonware Games went offline a few years ago. The downloads at Underdogs work fine, after you wait a week for the pages to populate.

You're being sarcastic about the "true classic" part, right? The game is an edutainment title by MECC. Not exactly well known or widely distributed.

It's almost universally known across my generation, because every computer we used in elementary school had it installed, and I have yet to come across a person in my age group who hasn't played it.

Go take a look at that Oregon Trail thread (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=108164). What about Number Munchers as well? I'm not talking about Tass Times in Tonetown (which is a classic to me and about five other people) here, but a game many remember.

Jealous? As my shirt says, "Those who think they know everything annoy those of us that do."
I suppose since I was the first person to chime in with the name of the game, I get flamed by everyone else who hasn't heard of it before. I really don't care, the OP got the answer they were looking for and that's all that matters. It's a little known fact, you know. ;)

OOC, what's your age group? I'm 24, and while I've played Oregon Trail, Math Blaster, and a host of other edutainment titles, this is not one of which I can claim any knowledge.

I'm 26 myself. Most people I know that remember Dr. Quandary played it on a Macintosh before finding the glorious full color DOS version.
Just the same, everyone should check it out, it's a great little puzzle exploration game.

I'm 18, so when I was in elementary school all of our Mac's had this game, Oregon Trail, Number Munchers, Word Munchers, Amazon Trail, and a bunch of other edutainment games on it.

I really like point and click adventures, so I took your advice and downloaded the game from the Underdogs. It's pretty good. Even on hard the puzzles aren't real difficult (after all it's a kid's game) but it has a lot of charm to it and the puzzles do make you think. The arcade bits are funny because my computer's way too fast. I'm a little frustrated with a bit on factors because it's making me feel dumb but I'm certain if I give it enough thought I'll come up with the pattern. Anyway thanks for the suggestion. It's a fun game.

Speaking of old computer games, I played a game on the school's computer back in like 3rd grade, I believe it was called Bow and Arrows or something. It was a game where you were an archer on the side and a line of balloons would float up and you'd have to shoot as many as you can with a certain amount of arrows. As levels progressed you would shoot different objects, but I can't even remember what else you shot. It was a very basic but addicting game. Anyone know where I can download it?

This seems to be a similar flash game to the one you're talking about.

If anything it's a cool concept and the Troggles as targets in the midway at the start always crack me up. Also try clicking around the scene at the very start before you step up to the booth.
