I finally found a halfway decent second hand shop here in my area in DE.
He's selling the usual from PS2/XBox onwards, but also older goodies like GB, PSX, SNES, N64.
He has a great deal of SNES/N64 carts (in some sort of plastic display casing) hanging on those wall displays with hooks, approx 100 titles altogether. Asking if he has the boxes/instr. for the SNES/N64 titles he said, "Sorry they gotten trashed, they took up to much room. Not like PSX where its all in a convenient jewel case."
That's a great shame, I just hate it when that happens, but what can you do?
Thing is, those games seem to be hanging there for quite some time, judging by the dust on the plastic display cases.
Man, I was a angry, and I didn't even bother to look through all the SNES/N64 titles (picked up some great PSX games though, which compensated).

Yea, that sucks. Nearly every store in this area keeps EVERYTHING and the funny thing is that quite a few places have the same price on CIB and loose games. Sometimes I actually buy just boxes/manuals to complete a game for a few bucks or even free. It sucks they do that, if only more store owners understood the value of older games being complete and the demographic they're actually selling to.

Check the trash can out back;)
Let him know if he get's any boxes in the future to give you a call and you will gladly take them away for him...

When I was a kid I saved the boxes for my Atari 2600 games because they looked cool on the shelf, not because I was a collector. Then when I got a lot of games and ran out of room, the boxes had to go. The ironic part is that is when I DID become a collector! DOH!
