I recently received a replacement 72-pin connector for the NES cartridge holder. I replaced it and tested it before putting everything back together. Everything works fine except now I can't get the metal frame back onto the motherboard because the blue clip holding the wires for the Reset button is in the way.

(here I pointed out the wires that much be removed)

Any help would be appreciated. :help:

Put the bottom metal shield on first then the board, then plug the blue connector in. It has to go between the shield and the plug.

It's kind of hard to explain. Hopefully that helped though.

slide the edge with the slot over the blue connector at an angle. it takes a little bit but it should just slide right on.

Dismantle everything again, pins can say on the board no worries.

Ok, now lay the metal tray down in the bottem of the NES, make sure the holes line up for the screws. Now place your motherboard down. Next reconnect the controller and the power and reset ports. Slide the toaster tray back into place, screw that down. Make sure you tighten the front two down, but not so much that the tray doesn't lock when pressed down. Next place the metal cover that goes over the tray and the pins, and screw that down. Finishes over with the outer casing and you are good to go. The front and center screw for the plastic housing can also cause tray locking problems. Keep that in mind. Happy gaming.

Well I finally managed to assemble everything back together. :)

But the problem still persists. I'm afraid my NES suffers from permanent blinking. :(

YES. Putting dirty games into your new clean 72-pin will defeat its purpose.
