Last weekend, a young customer walked from the back of the store with a boxed Aura Interactor in hand."Joe, what do you think about this?" He asks."It's pretty cool. It lets you 'feel' the games." "Di...

DP's Interacter's go to 11.

So what is that thing... like a giant strap-on rumble pak for the SNES and Genesis?

Something like that. It's like a subwoofer attached to your chest and back. You can use ANY device that has audio outputs, so he could also blow his heart up watching TV or listening to a CD.

I nominate Joe for man of the year 2007.

Now if you can just work your magic with an Activator...

I remember that, I know a guy that knows a guy and it happened to his brother's uncle's cousin's grandma.

You know, I'm sure it SEEMS that way... but I promise it's not "wrong". This is really lighthearted stuff. No one gets hurt, no one walks away mad or insulted or cheated. I think most of us are pranksters and I also think most of our customers catch on to that pretty quickly. If you've ever been to the store I'm pretty sure you'd feel we treated you and other customers very well.

Even in this case. If this kid came onto the forums I'd bet the worst he'd feel is that he'd been pranked. At best, part of some good clean fun.

Joe, I never thought I would see that fellow again after last Saturday. Thanks for another laugh. I'll never forget his face and what he said to his friend that was there when he heard the story.

What did he say to his friend? Is there a side story to all of this? Yes please.

It wasn't much but after Mike was done with the story the kid just stared at the box and he had a shocked but happy look on his face. He paused for a second and then walked over to his friend and said "DUDE! Did you hear what this guy just said?" Just the tone he said it in and the look he had was priceless.

I guess you could call it a subwoofer... But as far as I can tell, it's a semi-loose speaker in a plastic casing.

wtf.. Throughout the story I was picturing a 12 year old kid.. but then I saw the picture. That kid looks a little too old to be THAT gullible. Is he? *_*

I think he's 17, but I know adults that would fall for similar or even less complex pranks. The human brain is an amazing variable in humans.

Having him take a picture with it is the icing on the cake. You'd think you were reading about a child, then you see a picture of teenage stoner with a puzzled looked on his face and the situation is much more amusing.

Good job.

"Well, boy?! Have you got the cajones to handle a videogame peripheral that could potentially kill you...or not? Do you have what it takes to strap this bottomless pit of torque to your bony little chest?"

This is Joe's best rib since the one where he convinced those kids that the PSP version of that horror movie (the name escapes me, sorry) was scarier than the theatrical release, thus he had to keep it in the secure cabinet LOL

I find this just priceless, since while I was reading this, the kid who bought the interceptor walked into the DP store. I wanna ask him how the interceptor is holding up and if he has had any physical problems after using it. I just gotta restrain myself, I'll try to get him on the webcam.

I certainly can't criticize anybody who errs on the side of caution! Joe, you really look after your customers! LOL

I guess this also means that's another Aura Interactor that'll be preserved for all time, maybe...who in their right mind would use the thing after hearing that anti-sales pitch! :P

Actually, it looks to me like he saw right through the thing (judging from his smile in that pic).

Pretty funny.

The Interactor I bought at a fleamarket for $5 has stayed wrapped in plastic. Even if it doesn't asplode your internal organs, rattling my heart and lungs around doesn't sound like a healthy good time to me.

I have one of those and I DID turn it up to 10 but the worst that happened to me was an aching back. I didn't have it on for very long though.

Wait, What am I saying?

I meant to say that after that experience, I was, Uhh, In a hospital for 9 months! I must have been lucky!

If you check out the last entries on his site, he moved to Korea then almost got screwed out of his business which is now gone. At least he got his revenge on the guy who tried to screw him over.

Thanks, I wonder where I'd have been if I kept the darn thing on for much longer? I would probably be on the moon right now. @_@

Hmmm....don't see such posts. I looked at every book chapter...same old stuff. I went to his new site:

http://aog.2y.net/forums/index.php?showforum=5

Didn't see much there. Has the info been taken down?

and yet... I've got stories at least as amusing. Really. Stay tuned.

There's some weird stuff going on with that guy though. He was supposed to publish a book out of the stories he wrote and even went so far as taking preorders. That was 5 years ago. As far as I know no one got their money refunded and the forums are all but dead. The front page of his website hasn't been updated in forever.

It's unfortunate. :(

With Joe haven taking office as the new Gord, the peasants hereby demand more Lore of Stupid Customers.
