After the screening of Joy Sticks movie that was shown about 2 weeks ago at the New Beverly Cinema, the director told us where some of the locations where the movie was shot. Robert from SC3 went out to some of those locations and got some pics. Take a look...

That's pretty cool. The movie is still fun to watch today. And it doesn't look like the scenery has changed too much in 25 years. This is one of those movies that I have on DVD for the store but can rarely show it because there are a few scenes that would surely frighten parents away for good.

Wow, awesome story. Looks like the mountain moved on that picture looking down the hill. :)

What this thread needs now is for a few of you to compare how the movie appeals to you now vs. then. That would make this permanently interesting to read. I have the movie - bought it when it came out on DVD - but haven't watched it yet and haven't seen it in the past 10 years.

I never saw this movie when it came out. I probably saw it for the first time early this century, and once was enough. The only redeeming quality for me was the shots of the arcade. I feel like a grumpy old man for not liking this. I don't care for Tron much either, but I do like The Wizard and Super Mario Bros. Oh well. :P

On a Joysticks related note, I went to Kym Malin's site and it said she was a hostage in the original Die Hard. Does anyone know if she was the woman getting boinked in the office?

Neat article, though I prefer Flack's "Then and Now" of UHF.

I should probably watch Joy Sticks one of these days... :embarrassed:
