I think you should actually reply to some threads instead of making them.

Oh wait, this is about what I think will win game of the year. Sorry, I'm too focused on how much your poll fails for not including Super Paper Mario, Guitar Hero III, or any DS or PSP games to make a vote.

Whose game of the year are we talking about, why would we be thinking about game of the year for games that aren't even out yet and has 2007 really been that terrible that nothing better than the above named came out in the first 2 quarters?

Three way tie between:
My Horse and Me
Baby Pals
Homie Rollerz

All three are for DS though so they don't count!!!

portal was by and far the coolest game that i played this year and id say i played 95% of all the top contenders.

I'm not even angry.
I'm being so sincere right now.
Even though you broke my heart.
And killed me.
And tore me to pieces.
And threw every piece into a fire.
As they burned it hurt because I was so happy for you!

After watching the bonus disc of mass effect I think Mass effect is going to get the nod. It offers a cobination of sci fi rpg via words not text and action.

Watching a video does not do it justice. Running on the 360 it is amazing the facial expressions down to the blinking.

The expansive ability to travel the galaxy and land on planets then explore them is just stuff people dream of.

The funny thing was I was overlooking mass effect blowing it off even though those in the know was saying this is going to be special. After going over the bonus disc I think this one will be hard to beat and I am not a die hard rpg fan..

I Love call of duty 4 the overall package is phenominal the action is so intense and the cinematics are to die for but I think if will fall under the been there catagory.

I am telling you go get the preoreder disc and look at it running on the 360.

Yep I went to watch it again. This gets my vote. Here is a quick story of mass effect.

The universe hold a terrible secret 1000s of years ago a machince race cut a path of destruction across the galexy annihilating all civilizations. (borg, cylons) I think there call the geth. An (alien) sellout of course has an army at his disposal Now there back.

now we need to intel to understand the galactic threat. With our ship.

These character models and interaction are the best I have ever seen in a game.

Example There was a scene you a female and an alien. While the female was talking the alien started nodding in agreement and then they had a disagreement and you can sense he was standoffish kinda weird but know I understand what the developers were saying about the interaction. I am already kinda attached to the characters in the video demo.

Here are some video from the disc but remember they look totally stunning running on the 360.

My favorite game I've played this year so far is Bioshock. I don't know how you determine what will "win game of the year." Do you mean from a certain publication? Or, on average, from all publications? The poll seems a little ridiculous with no parameters.

Bioshock is my game of the year, with The Orange Box coming in second. I think most publications will go for either Halo 3 or Galaxy, though.

My love goes for Orange Box, though I've got my hopes up on Swashbucklers (http://en.akella.com/Game.aspx?id=4) being the new hotness. Shame I went for the free, slow shipping.

Though the game isn't out yet, I know what will be my Game of the Year and that is Contra 4.

Sadly enough, at least in my opinion, I think Halo 3 will win that title simply because its "Halo."

But, I personally pick Metroid Prime 3. Its by far the best Wii game to date. The controls are top notch, and I feel that they beat any controls of a console fps game.

Not that I'd vote for it, but I think Ratchet & Clank Future should be added.

IMO, this poll is premature. At least 3 of the games have not been released yet, and if you are going to include future releases, you're missing some games - Uncharted for the PS3; Crysis for the PC; Rock Band and Haze for the 360 and PS3.

BioShock.

It lived up to the hype, and then some. And no - multiplayer would NOT have made the game better.

My choice for runner up would be Crackdown.

What No Odin Sphere, Blue Dragon, Persona 3, Lunar Knights or God of war 2?

If the mainstream media is choosing this one, it will be Halo 3.

I don't think DM multiplayer would have made it better in the slightest, but co op would have been hella nice (as was evidenced by the awesomeness of System Shock 2 co op).

Odin Sphere should be on that list, Persona 3 should be mentioned too, and Where is the love for the Dracula x Chronicles. Dracula X has two of the best games ever on it this should at least get portable game of the year. I am just so tired of games that are more movie than game, or yet another FPS getting all of the love.

Anyway back on topic My vote is for Odin Sphere. Great story, great way of telling it, Great music, and Great Graphics just pulled me into the game and led to a great experience.
