Good Day everyone.
I bought a "blank-no label" snes cart for the heck of it, hoping to find something good to play on accident. It's the Tazmanian Devil running down the highway eating birds for points and slapping a character for a bone while avoiding a few cars and trees. It's not Taz-Mania is it? Is there a screenshot floating around because it's nothing like the Game Gear version I've played a while back.
Forgive me for not sending screen shots, I'll take some photos tonight if needed. Cart guts and TV shots. I was testing stuff for ebay/black Friday money and I was in the zone trying to get everything tested before listing. That was a chore,....

It can't be a proto, I'm trying to rule it out and trying not to get my hopes up.

It sounds exactly like Tazmania, I made the mistake of renting it when I was a kid.

Yeah, that's the SNES Taz-Mania game. Totally different from Taz-Mania on the Genesis, Master System and Game Gear, which was just a standard platformer.

Personally, I really liked the game. It's a totally original idea rather than just another me-too platformer like the one on the Sega consoles (there are some great Looney Tunes platformers on the 16-bit systems, but Taz-Mania isn't one of them) and pretty well executed. There's a real balance between control and chaos in the game, which sure fits the Taz license well and I found it quite addicting to see how far I could get, playing over and over again to get further and further down the road.

GameFAQs has a couple of screenshots (http://www.gamefaqs.com/console/snes/image/588772.html) of the game.

OOhh Game Faq I should have known better. I was at work and had a hunch. I thought about dropping a line to you guys about the game.
I like the game, I never thought I'd like grabbing birds out of the sky and eating them, hence the feathers left over.

Huh. No entry on Mobyagmes for this one, looks like.

I remember the Genesis game. It was rather difficult for me at the time, possibly because of the stiff controls. I also remember how it was hyped up on the cover of an issue of GamePro (which naturally contained a single uninformative one-page preview about the game and naught else).

And I think I played the Game Gear version too, briefly. That's the one that starts off right away with some weird black thing chasing you, right?

Yep, Tazmania by Sunsoft. I got this game with my snes. Some may like it, but after awhile it just got monotonous, but I did enjoy it.

Most of my friends thought it was really funny how at the end of every level everything that Taz gobbled up came flooding out of his mouth.
