Hi there, I picked up Half-Life for the PS2 recently, very cheaply. Its complete. I have a person on another board eagerly wanting to trade some games with me for it. Just what is the game worth? I see it goes for about $80 new and sealed on half.com, up to $100 new on Amazon.com, and around $30-$40 in as-new condition, like mine.

Is this something I should be hanging on to? I was considering trading for Devil May Cry 3 Special Edition, and DEvil May Cry 1, but the guy is balking at trading for both. Am I getting a good deal or getting potentially hosed?

Ebay shows an average price (opened & complete) of ~$15...and none are selling. In the last 5 years I've seen used copies consistently sitting on shelves for <$10. BTW: Half.com and Amazon resellers are terrible places to gauge prices.

If the post above mine is correct then its about fair. I was uncertain on half life prices and was just going off what you quoted..

I saw one yesterday and they frequently pop up, so rare around here I'd say no. I doubt it's rare anywhere you go though it may be an uncommon on day? I'm not aware of print counts on current gen and last gen consoles. And I'd say the games worth no more than $15, and that's really a stretch. $12 is a safe bet but $8 is more reasonable.

Not rare. I get them pretty often and sell them for 11.99.

Went game shopping last weekend. Of the 4 seperate Gamestop, Babbage's, EB Games, and mom & pop game sellers I visited, I saw 7 Half-Lifes for Ps2. All complete. All in good shape. Prices ranged from $11.99 to $17.99.

Buying it anyplace for more than $20 is stupid-insane. Not common as dirt, but common enough.
