Actually doesn't look too bad! $40 for 1 if you pre-order. Looks kind of Neo-Geo'ish to me. Also available in pink, and black.

Isn't there also supposed to be a Hori stick for Wii? I thought I saw it somewhere...

Edit: Found it. (http://www.gamestop.com/product.asp?product%5Fid=802721) Looks like it's digital only (wheras "The Shaft" supports analog), but it has 8 buttons instead of 6.

So, the website for the Wii Shaft is now gone. Which is rather inconvenient, as I was working up to buying one. Does anyone know if anywhere has remaining stock? I tried Froogle (yes I still call it that), but didn't come up with anything.

Madcatz released a Tatsunoko vs. Capcom stick a couple years ago which you can find for thirty bucks on EBay. Its quality merchandise, and it's easy to mod or replace parts. If you can't find a Wii shaft, check it out.

If you look hard enough you may find one at a local gamestop for $13. Careful, though, arcade sticks are addictive. That $13 investment quickly turns into a several hundred dollar project.

Everytime I see an Arcade Stick post someone wants to boast about swapping in real Arcade parts. On the Tatsunoko vs. Capcom Stick there is no need to. I have two and they are solid. The only mod I did was add an inexpensive toggle switch to jumper a Face button making the stick into a "Duel Stick" for Geometry Wars.

I have a Hori stick already and I'm pretty satisfied with it. But I wanted a Shaft for its analog support.

I'm actually not swapping in any arcade parts into my wii sticks. I am, however, adding compatibility with a whole slew of other systems. Now, just to find some income.

That wasn't my experience. The buttons, spring, and micro switches on the stick PCB all needed changing after a couple of months of moderate use. Sanwa parts they ain't.

I guess it depends on what you're using it for, and how much.

yeah its a slippery slope I've never customized but I've owned the DC stick and one of the street fighter sticks for ps3 (that was expensive) ended up doing ok when I sold them though.

also neo geo sticks are great and replicas (legit) exist for wii

The Wii Shaft looks nearly unusable.
