I know this has probably been asked before but i couldn't find anything in the forum search. okay i got a really good deal today. i got a power pad, R.o.b., gyromite, chrono cross, and dance aerobics for $10. well it seems like a good deal to me. the only problem is the r.o.b. didn't come with anything. i was wanting to know if i could still use it without the little add-ons.

he really doens't do anything without his parts, you can test him out with a copy of gyromite or stackup by going into the "direct" mode to test out his functions. (many second hand robs that i've come across are doa)

at the very least he makes a neat shelf ornament.

i've seen lots of lots of parts on ebay from time to time, you could also pick up a complete japanese robot block or robot gyro on ebay, all the parts are compatable (just differnt colours for some of the stackup parts and i think the gyro hands are red as well). us stackup parts are a bit hard to come by overall but gyromite ones shoudln't cost you more then a few bucks per part (maybe about 10 for the spinner)

I have purchased about 4 ROBs on eBay over the years.

2 worked and 2 were doa. I guess it is a crap shoot!

Not likely, since Nintendo stopped selling R.O.B. replacement parts about 15 years ago. You'd be better off just buying a complete robot...forget trying to find all the parts.

Actually, about 6-8 years ago I saw the Gyro Tray (but only this part) on Nintendo's website. Needless to say, they don't sell them anymore.
