Problem with playing my Dreamcast using VGA on my LCD

I hook up my Dreamcast to my CRT using a VGA adaptor, no probs. When I hook it up to my LCD Sharp 26 inch, nada. I get nothing, no picture or sound. I am making sure it is on the right inputs, but dang I am baffled. Any help on this matter?

I believe the LCD needs to be able to display 640x480 for the adapter to work. See if you have the option to change the resolution(hopefully)and you'll begin to see how far ahead of its' time the Dreamcast was.
