Best place to get an N64 quickly?

I'm going to get my 3 year old son an n64 for Easter. He's ready for games but not cds/dvds. I'm wondering where the best place in MA/RI is to get one that's not beaten to crap? For the most part our big game chain up here is Gamestop and they seem to only sell things that barely work AND they can gouge on.

I was gonna say Gamestop. They're selling at $29 currently, I think.

Also might check the pawn shops out. Last time I did the pawn rounds in these parts almost everyone had stacks of N64 and you can usually talk them down.

If you can get to an EBGames, they have a deal where you buy a N64 for $29.95 & get a game free (up to $14.95 value).

If you're looking for a new one you might still be able to find them for $50 at Toys R Us and CompUSA.

Otherwise like these guys have mentioned, EBgames and Gamestop have about ten billion of 'em used.

Personally, I wouldn't worry too much about a used N64 not working, those things are built rock solid. Besides if you buy it at some retailer like Gamestop, you'll get a refund if it doesn't work, as long as you keep the reciept.

The last two consoles I bought at Gamestop didn't work, so I returned them. The replacements did not work, so I returned them. The second replacements did not work, so I tried to return them and was told they have a limit on replacements and was SOL unless I wanted store credit for tradeins, EVEN THOUGH I WAS SAYING THE FUCKING THINGS DIDN'T WORK THEY WOULD HAVE ACCEPTED THEM AS TRADEINS.

Idiots at Gamestop.

Also, I live in RI and I can sell you a used N64 for $30 with all the cables, 2 controllers, and Super Mario 64. Tested and works perfect.

Our toys r us in the green bay wisconsin area had those pikachu N64's with hey you pikachu game new for $50 the other day. I dont know if your local toys r us has any left.

It wasn't an insult, I was merely suggesting that the problem was a human error and not a hardware error. It would be pretty easy for someone unfamiliar with a system to buy it used (no instructions) and hook it up wrong, or stick in a dirty unplayable game, or whatever. It happens to the best of us.

Right. I did own an n64 back when it was current, but I later sold it due to lack of time to play it and needing cash at the time. I know for a fact it wasn't me on the consoles since sometimes they would work, most times not... what I didn't mention was that they were all NES consoles so you get one guess as to the reason they didn't work.

Yeah, but I didn't know that repair was so simple 5 years ago when this happened. I've also had various other things bought from (then) Funcoland that barely worked... controllers that wouldn't go left... games that required more cleaning than your average crackho...
