I thought the tg-16 games were a good deal on the vc.

Yeah, I agree, but the selection could be better.

That all varies really. $12 for Sin and Punishment - Awesome value... $5 SMB, not so much.
They have done a good job with the volume and variety of releases. 3 games a week is a pretty decent clip.

Protip for 7th lutz: Use spaces between categories. Possibly even underline or bold the title of each category for easier viewing.

I'll say what I've said before. Prices are too high for impulse purchases. I've bought 4 games so far (Shining in the Darkness, Shining Force 1, Wonder Boy in Monster World). Those were all with GIFTED wii points, none of my own money.

If Nintendo wants my money, they need to halve their prices. Even if they halved prices a year after the game was released on VC, I might buy them.

Put it this way - at $5-10 a pop, I've bought 4 games, somewhere around $25 or so. If they were $2-$5, I would've probably purchased at least 20 games, netting Nintendo $40 - $100 instead of the $25 I have spent.

I'd have to give it a D+.

Games are overpriced. Game selection is pretty humdrum. And why it took so long for Nintendo to post the Metroid 2-D games is beyond me.

Hell, even MS throws us a free game, every now and then..... What gives Nintendo?

It would've gotten an F from me, if Super Metroid, Sin & Punishment, and Zelda 3 weren't up there. And Nintendo needs to add Sega Master System titles to the library.

I'd say B.

I'm satisfied with the selction so far - though SMS, Sega CD and 32X titles would be a nice addition. There are some stinkers out there, but there's plenty of good titles as well.

My main complaint is price. I agree with Fantasia that they should be about half of what's currently being charged, or at the very least, the price structure should be changed somewhat that the lesser games cost less (ie, there's really no way Urban Champion is worth the same as something like SMB3).

Also, the Wii's small hard drive isn't good once you start downloading the bigger games. The Neo-Geo and N64 games take up space fast. They need to make them playable directly from a SD card, or even better, allow for the use of USB drives.

The Virtual Console is off to a great start, but lower prices would be even better. Game Boy, Game Boy Color, and Game Boy Advance games would be perfect!

first of all, sorry for being an ass, but dude... stop this. this report card thing is BS, your write ups suck, i want my 5 minutes of my life back. first of all youre speaking in absolutes, on a forum. these are merely your opinions (inconsequential ones at that). second... i got the vibe that youre of some importance and youre here telling us all common folk how it is. please. i know im coming off pretty bad right now but i really wanna get this off my chest. if you wanna make an honest to goodness review of something, take several days, do some research, think of better / more meaningful / not silly categories and do an actual write up/review. (lowering grades for bad games? wtf man... are you a 1st grade art teacher?)

ok now, i agree with everyone else here, D/C. the prices are horrible. and yes, even MS (supposedly the greediest of all) throws us free stuff (but in the long run has much worse content). however, if someone really really has a craving to play some old game, alone or w/ friends, this is a great way out. ive purchased a couple games, one cause i really wanted to play it without any hassle (SMB), one cause i just wanted to have it/i was stupid (SMW), and two cause i heard so many good things i just had to play it and never have (Castlevania IV, Soldier blade)

You could always, you know, skip the thread. You're not exactly known for your intelligent and insightful posts either, you know.
