I told someone I'd *try* to set up their software for a macmame cabinet with an X-Arcade control pannel. I usually only do PC setups but they wanted me to try. So far though macmame is not being very cabinet friendly. Having to press "apple O", "apple P"...etc is a no no in a cab. I'd really like to do something like mamewah on a PC.

Anyone have any suggestions?

Buy a $299 PC from Dell or TigerDirect. MAME on the Mac is sucky--MacMAME isn't even supported any more.

That was my suggestion too but they wanted to use the mac since they basically got it for free with the cabinet and they didn't have any other use for it. I pretty much just ended up configuring the controls to navigate the Macmame menu and they're ok with using the keyboard to do the rest.

I've built a MacMame cabinet using an x-arcade panel and use the older mac OS 9 system. I can play over 200 older arcade games-pre 1989 and I don't need the keyboard to control my mac. If anyone would like more info-game list-pics of cabinet - or set up info, you can e-mail me direct at madridt@gmail.com

Very possible on a mac if you know what you are doing.
