I was reading the back of Dark Cloud for PS2 tonight, and it had that line and kinda made me groan. Do you have any 'good' ones?
Maybe: "The xxxx has been kidnapped!" where xxxx= the president, princess, etc.
The President has been kidnapped by ninjas!!!1111

The Jaquio used a ton of them in Ninja Gaiden & Ninja Gaiden II. Well, so did Ryu and pretty much every other character.
You can also see equally tired dialogue during the introductions of the first three Final Fight games (SNES). There is stuff in that series which rivals Bad Dudes.

If I may digress to anime for a minute... whenever I look at the box, or read an online review for any anime who's plot begins with "________ was an ordinary high school student..." I put the damn thing down right there.
Back to video games- all this stuff about "the princess / girlfriend / etc has been kidnapped" or "avenge your father" or whatever, I don't really mind, especially in classic games. I HATE the "This young boy is the Special Chosen One™, and only he can save the world from the evil Big Bad." plot. If they'd put some thought into it and give a logical explanation why Young Lad is the only one who can wield the Holy Mana Sword, I wouldn't mind it so much.

That game has the best lines. They're legendary even to some non-gamers. One word: epic. I know that the first one was pointed out already but this one kills me every time.

Princesses Peach and Daisy need to sort their shit out. Start carrying tazers, shotguns, bob-om launchers or whatever, but seriously... If I were Mario I'd have had words a long time ago.
And the residents of Hyrule and its surrounding areas are just damn unlucky. Move away from the area; far, far away somewhere young Link is never gonna venture on his travels. Otherwise you and your past/future relatives are buggered.
