View Full Version : Should I buy COD4 for PC or for my Xbox 360?

I am torn between buying this game for my PC or my 360....
I don't know which one would be better in terms of graphics and gameplay because my computer can run the game between 45-100+FPS which isn't bad but the Xbox 360 can run the game at 60FPS all the time. Has anyone tried both the PC and Xbox 360 and if so....please let me know which one looked better and which one had the better gameplay.

Graphics.. definitely the 360.
All of the people I know with relatively good gaming setups struggle to even get COD4 to match the 360 framerate unless we put it at the lowest resolution... so, unless you got a monster pc (and even then you might struggle from what I've seen), I say why bother. Just get the 360 version.
Control of course is a whole other story and up to your preference.

pc all the way nothing beats a mouse and keyboard for first person shooters. In terms of graphics hands down pc.

How often does it drop below 60 FPS on your PC and does it annoy you much? Do you prefer a mouse+keyboard on a computer or a controller infront of the TV? Is it possible to upgrade your PC to fill in the gap and if so how much and is it worth the enhancements for not only this game but others?

The 360 version is absolutely flawless.
Graphics are silky smooth. I've yet to see the game drop below 60fps. PC has 32 player multiplayer vs. the 360's 16. But that could always change via an update.

To me, the answer is obvious--360 FTW.

Maybe so, but the controls for COD4 are the BEST for a FPS I've ever seen done on a console... Almost as if the analog sticks were a mouse. :)

Agreed. The controls and movement speed are airtight.

i say PC. no matter how good a sitck and a couch may feel, a mouse on teh table and a keyboard in my lap, reclining in my beautiful office chair and gaming on my 21" LCD is all i need. if your even wondering on the platform im assuming you have a good pc, so go pc, you have the added bonus of being able to alt tab into the internet and mob the game if need be (even hack!).
dunno about you guys but my 8800gt athlon 6000+ rips everything a new asshole.

I would opt for PC. This is a game where you die fast, and having the twitch controller of a mouse is much more important than other 1st person shooters. You could download the PC demo is you are uncertain. However, if you do not go to LAN parties and do not care for PC gaming much then the 360 is fine. I have played and enjoyed both versions.
