I began selling some extra items on Ebay a few months ago. Everything started out well, I sold 10 items to begin with and all transaction went perfect. Now a few weeks ago I listed more auctions, one of those items was a complete Suikoden for PS1. The item sold, and I recived payment by Paypal immediately. I sent the item the very next day. A week goes by and I recieve and e-mail from the buyer saying that I screwed him over and only shipped 1 disc of the game. Now, anyone who knows Suikoden, it is only a 1 disc game. So I replyed back saying that it's only a 1 disc game and even shows this on the front of the case(I know this, I check my other copy). He then replys back saying that it is a multidisc game because it would not come in the over sized case.
A couple of days go by and I check my Ebay and find out that this person gave me Negitive feedback. Also I check my paypal account and the money has been pulled from my account. It now looks like Im out $60 and this copy of the game. I don't think I'll be using Ebay anymore.

Sorry that happend to you. I had something similar happen before but it didn't stop me from selling. Pretty much 99% have been positive. However if there is an issue Paypal and Ebay almost always side with the buyer.
Since you can prove that this is a 1 disk game then you definatly have a case. I would find a website that shows this and send it and a feedback withdrawl offer to your buyer explaning things once more. Also send it to ebay and paypal and don't give up.
Some things to protect yourself...
In case a package gets lost or damaged always ship with insurance. Insurance protects the seller...not the buyer. That's paypal's job. It's only a couple bucks...add it the shipping cost.
Always try to work things out with the buyer even when things go wrong. Most people are understanding and are willing to work things out.
Keep up with an auction untill feedback has been left. If it's been a while since the auction ended and I still havn't gotten feedback or a responce I'll email them askign if they got their item.

This is why I don't accept paypal. At least with money orders buyers can't make up BS and get an instant refund.

The spine of the case even says 1 disc. It is over sizes because the manual is big. There isnt even a spindle (the little piece that holds the hole of the disc) on the inside cover of the case. Just point these things out when you despute it.

The buyer was either stupid or very sly. I personally think he knew he can screw you somehow and get money back as well. And he did it. That's bad.

The money is probably not *gone* yet, they are just holding it pending the result of the claim. You should be able to give evidence in that claim, and obviously you should win. Of course, if you didn't use delivery confirmation you are screwed.

These facts don't add up at all. Paypal doesn't instantly take the money out of your account when a buyer disputes a transaction. If it's a Item Not Received claim, they give you over two weeks to respond before money is taken. If it's a Not As Described claim, they make the buyer return the item (with tracking), and once you have it, they process the refund.
Unless you colossally screwed something up, or the buyer is an expert scam artist, you're not telling us the whole story.

Well if the buyer opens a dispute and then esculates it into a claim case, if the the Seller does not reply in 7 days after the claim case has been opened, then the buyer automaticlly wins. So if the seller say, did not log into Ebay for a week, he would be out the cash.

I just looked it up and it's 10 calendar days from the dispute date. You also receive four email warnings from Paypal. It doesn't happen immediately or without warning. If you can't check email within 10 days, I don't know what to tell you.

Agreed. Not everyone has the time to check their eBay account all the time after a sale to make sure the buyer isn't trying to screw them. Nor should they have to.
Only problem is, buyers are so spoiled now many of them won't bid on an auction that doesn't use PayPal. So if you don't accept it, you don't make as much money.

Well, I never got a warning untill the moment the money was pulled from my account.
Anyways, I gave my evidence to the claim, and I received my money back. I still think I am finished with Ebay, maybe I'll just try selling or trading my extra items through the Buying & Selling fourm on this site.
