Now that the wiizapper is out, and rayman 2 has that shooting game done with real video footage (which looks awesome with the little cartoon characters jumping all about)
Do you think they'll do some FMV shooters for the wii... and would you want some?
If American Laser Games is still alive (unsure?) perhaps they could make a comp of all their classics for a quick little port (like they did for DVD players) that could be purchased for 20 dollars or maybe through the wiiware channel.
Would you like to see the shooters come back on the wii? Maybe even expand on some of the ideas with the wiimote and nunchuck in mind.
I certainly would. Also, I really love what they did in Rayman 2 with the footage, I'd like to see a shooter like this with live actors or something. It just looks so cool.

I kinda liked a lot of the old FMV games of yesteryear, but I don't see a whole lot of them coming back. Although a retro collection of laserdisc games like Dragon's Lair/Space Ace and Mad Dog McCree/Drug Wars/Who Shot Johnny Rock would be pretty nice, and not too hard to throw together. I just don't see it happening any time soon.

I think they just released the HD-DVD version of Dragon's Lair, and apparently there's a fancy new DS version on the way. Apparently there's still money to be made.

I dunno. I kinda think FMV games were a short-lived fad that's gone the way of the dodo. We have game graphics that are more pleasing to the eye than most video is now anyway. Just buy a rail shooter. It's similar to watching a video and playing along.

I wouldn't be that surprised if Lethal Enforcers made its way to the system somehow.

I've said this before in other threads, but I would like nothing more than to see somebody locate the original 35mm stock of all the Digital Pictures games. They could take the original 35mm stock, transfer it to High Def, remix the audio into a Dolby Digital 5.1 soundtrack, and release it as a compilation on Blu Ray for the PS3. Call it the Digital Pictures Full Motion Video Collection Volume 1. The first Volume could feature Sewer Shark and Night Trap. Volume 2 could feature Ground Zero Texas and Double Switch. I'd love that shit. Just imagine playing something like Ground Zero Texas in full screen, high def, with remixed 5.1 sound.
Only thing is, I'm not 100 percent sure that Digital Pictures filmed their movies/games with 35mm film cameras. If they did, then it's totally dooable. It's just a matter of a company securing the rights, and getting ahold of the original film stock, and doing the High Def transfer, and remixing the sound. Considering how everything retro is getting alot of hype these days, some company out there should take a risk and try this.
