Playing Mario Galaxy, I keep getting a memory of some platformer I played years ago. I remember one of the levels had me running around planetoids and then jumping to try and get nabbed by another planet's gravity. I've been beating my mind up trying to remember what console it was for but it was definitely 3D, so I'm thinking between N64-PS2. It's one of those "if I see it, I'll know it".
I wish I had more info to give. Thanks in advance to those who figure it out!

You're not thinking of Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal are you? That had Galaxy style planetoid levels.

Could be Sonic Adventure 2, one of the later levels of the dark story had a similar level.

Speaking of Super Mario Galaxy, i'm sad i've played it for about a week and can already beat if I want. But instead, i'm collecting other stars.

The only game I can think of about being nabbed by a another planets gravity is starflight for the Genesis. :P I know it was not what you were asking but it is the only game that came to mind.

From what I hear, if you've got 60 stars you're about 1/4 done with the game, just so you know.

Yes!!! That's it! After you mention it, I did a Google search on SA2 and space and found a Youtube video for the "Mad Space Level". That jogged the old memory banks. I totally forgot that level was in SA2.
Thanks!

Anyone want a bad 3D platformer? Bubsy 3D anyone?

What I loved about Mad Space was if you managed to hit a glide exactly on the equator of the spherical planet, the fixed camera would result in you flying around in a really tight circle. Thank god Mario Galaxy got it right.

:beaten:
There are other, far worst Sonic games that could be listed. He just couldn't live up to the glory days of 2D.
