Welp, looks like (at least in my area) that the Sony PSP and PS3 deals were good enough to completely sell out at Target and Walmart respectively. Black Friday brought the "Five UMD movie and PSP for $170" deal at Target, and Walmart brought the "10 Blu-ray movie and PS3 80GB for $499" deal.

I went out to my two local Targets today to find zero PSP's in stock (first time I have seen this since launch) and both Walmarts are completely out of PS3 consoles.

I tried to get that $170 PSP deal myself on Black Friday, but got up too late (6am...hah). I own a PSP already, but it would have been nice to get a second unit with five movies...for the price of the unit alone. The PS3 deal was incredible too, but I couldn't get that even if I wanted to....don't have 500 to drop unfortunately.

Did anyone else grab either of these deals?

No, but I wish I had. I bought a slim PSP from Wal-Mart a week ago so I could get the silver package with Daxter and Family Guy. I did get hooked up at Gamestop with the $3.99 UMD movies, though. I bought 12 of them.

PS3 is still too expensive even though I keep coming across $20 PS3 games for the system.

The Daxter package is the one I have as well. Not a Black Friday deal, but heck, the system plus a game/movie/1GB memory stick for $199 is still a great (limited release) deal! Awesome deal on the movies too man. I have a complete collection of two so far :)

Yeah, there were some really compelling PS3 deals on Friday. A number of different bundle packages that were pretty attractive. Made me kinda sad that I bought one on launch day for the full pop. Oh well, I found a second one used for really cheap, so I guess it wall works out in the end. But yeah, some people who waited until now and grabbed a PS3 on Thursday, made out pretty nicely with all the free Blu Ray movies and stuff.

Yeah, Gamestop raised the price of the selected UMD movies back up to $4.99 from $3.99 after 11 a.m., but they should still have some left in the dump bin if you want to stock up. Those movies don't seem to be very popular, especially the family titles. I lucked out at the second Gamestop I went to and found Richard Pryor: Live on the Sunset Strip on UMD, of all things. Then, I fell asleep watching it Friday night with the PSP on my stomach...
