EDIT:
A good idea, but I was ultimately way in over my head.

Looks great! You might also want to try selling these at etsy.com.

I appreciate the positive comment. This took me a long time to get set up, especially numbering the sprites.
I'll give Etsy a look.

Everytime I see your projects I think what a great craft idea they are. Are they made from the plastic "beads" that you iron and melt together? Or are they thick plastic pony beads glued together?

They're the iron-together type.

There are people that do it. Matter of fact, I'm part of an entire forum of like-minded folk. Some do them occasionally, others do a lot. But only a couple are selling them.

if you can do samus from super metroid when she is facing the screen. I will pay well for it, the 8 birt artist made it before and sold them and he wont make another one to sell me.

That's a really great idea.
Including River City Ransom sprites scores you some extra "awesome" points for sure.
I think you'd do well to show more photos of your finished work, either in the charts, or in the beginning of this thread.
Have you considered making small diorama backdrops for these?

He's about 6 inches tall. He's literally the size of a CD. The beads are roughly 1/4" in diameter, and he's 24 beads tall.

Sure. I'll PM you and we can get something going.

I'd given it some thought, I'll be honest. I'll look into them a bit more, but they wouldn't be very cheap since they'll take a long time and use a lot of beads. That's not to say I wouldn't do them, of course.

Tossing this back to the top, seeing if there's any interest.

This is much more professional looking than mine (business wise, I mean). I usually just work out a trade for stuff. I could never decide on prices, heh.

just a question, where do you find those sprites of each different character? is there simply a website someone has put together?
EDIT: after searching around the internet i believe i have found some websites with tons of sprites. so nevermind.

I'd be more than happy to buy from you as soon as I'm done with my X-mas shopping...this is very cool indeed.

Good luck on this, Dustin. You do really nice work. The sprite sheets are an excellent idea, and the prices are extremely reasonable.
Let me also add that these beads are perfectly safe. You can lick them all you want with no ill effects.

Got a few people interested, don't be shy!

I like your pieces a lot. They're great to look at online. Thanks for sharing your work with us.
I'd buy some, except I don't really know what I'd do with them.

I've been to a friend's house who has a few of them, and they're displayed on the wall above his NES games. Kind of a neat decoration for a game he enjoys very much.
As I mentioned in my OP, magnets can go on the reverse to make fridge decorations, cork on the reverse can result in cool game-themed coasters, and they can be crafted into Christmas ornaments by simply adding a hanger.
More or less, they liven up a room and make for a superb conversation piece with like-minded folk. People who've never seen my stuff point them out almost right away, especially if it's a character that resonates with their memories.

You could do this ! (I also have a Mario scene to the right of this) This is in my game room.
